The Washington Huskies (7-3, 4-3 in the Big Ten) and UCLA Bruins (3-7, 3-4 in the Big Ten) square off in a battle of former Pac-12 foes. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena will host this CFB showdown on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10:30 PM ET, with NBC broadcasting the game.

Continue reading for my Washington vs UCLA prediction and best bets. I have also provided the Washington vs UCLA spread, moneyline, and total for Saturday night’s game.

Washington vs UCLA Prediction

  • Washington 34, UCLA 20

This Washington vs UCLA prediction sees the Huskies dominating on the road against a struggling Bruins team. Washington’s superior offensive firepower and UCLA’s defensive issues should lead to a comfortable victory in this Saturday night CFB matchup.

Washington vs UCLA Best Bets

Best Bet #1: Over 51

Here’s why I am taking Over 51 in this Saturday night CFB battle of former Pac-12 teams:

  • The over is 5-5 in Washington games, with the over hitting in two of the last three games. The over is also 5-5 in UCLA games, but it has hit in the last three games.
  • Washington has scored 38 or more points in their last three wins, while UCLA has allowed at least 28 points in three straight games, including 56 to Indiana. I expect Washington to score in the 30s while UCLA cracks 20, supporting our Washington vs UCLA prediction.

Best Bet #2: Demond Williams Jr. Over 274.5 Passing + Rushing Yards

Here’s why I am backing the sophomore quarterback to go Over 274.5 Passing + Rushing Yards:

  • Williams has topped this mark in seven of 10 games this season. He has four games with at least 275 passing yards alone, and he has been a dynamic rusher too, adding 512 yards. He averages north of 300 yards per game even including sacks.
  • Admittedly, UCLA has not let the likes of Fernando Mendoza or Julian Sayin reach this mark—better quarterbacks than Williams—but UCLA lost those games by a combined score of 104-16. In a closer game, I expect Williams to have four quarters’ worth of production.

Washington vs UCLA Spread

Moneyline-400 (FanDuel)+358 (Underdog)

The books have Washington as solid road favorites in the Washington vs UCLA spread for this Saturday night CFB matchup, with the total set between 51 and 51.5 points.

Washington Huskies Analysis

Washington’s CFP chances went up in smoke with their loss to Wisconsin two weeks ago, but they have a pair of former Pac-12 opponents left on the docket to finish strong and make a second-tier bowl game. Next week, Washington will host a top-10 Oregon team in what could knock the Ducks out of the playoff picture.

Demond Williams Jr. is one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the country. He has 21 total touchdowns and over 3,000 yards of total offense. Last week, he had a hyper-efficient 257 yards and two touchdowns on just 19 attempts.

Running back Jonah Coleman is one of the best running backs in the country. He leads the Big Ten in rushing touchdowns (13) and total touchdowns (15). While he is unlikely to get to 1,000 rushing yards (and he is likely to be limited this week), Coleman is among the best running back prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Speaking of the NFL Draft, Denzel Boston is a future NFL stud. However, he is likely to miss the UCLA game, so the Washington passing attack will flow through freshman Dezmen Roebuck. Roebuck has caught 32 passes for 431 yards and five touchdowns this season.

On defense, watch for safety Alex McLaughlin. He leads the Huskies with 49 solo tackles and 72 total tackles. He has 1.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, a pick-six, and five pass deflections.

UCLA Bruins Analysis

It has been a tale of three seasons for UCLA. They opened 0-3 under Deshaun Foster with three disastrous non-conference losses. Under Tim Skipper, the Bruins started 3-1 with a statement win over then-No. 7 Penn State. However, the season has gone back off the rails with three losses in three games against the meat of UCLA’s schedule.

UCLA is staring at a 3-9 season now with Washington and Fresno State on the docket.

Highly controversial quarterback Nico Iamaleava is slated to return this week. The junior has had a difficult season in Southern California, throwing 12 touchdowns to seven interceptions. He has been a solid rushing threat, adding 474 yards and four touchdowns.

YouTube video

UCLA’s leading rusher is Iamaleava, but he is followed on the leaderboard by a trio of backs between 250 and 300 rushing yards. Jalen Berger has the most carries (81) and yards (294) of the bunch. T.J. Harden has the most touchdowns of the bunch (two), and Anthony Adkins doubles as a capable receiving threat.

Kwazi Gilmer has been a solid No. 1 option in the passing attack. He leads the Bruins with 37 catches for 432 yards and three touchdowns. His production has been spotty in recent weeks, but he did catch a touchdown versus Ohio State last week.

UCLA has one of the worst defenses in the Power 4, but JonJon Vaughns missed the memo. He leads the Bruins in solo tackles and total tackles. He also has 4.0 tackles for loss and a pass deflection.

In a matchup that dates back to 1932, UCLA holds a 40-35-2 edge, largely dominating since 2000. Washington has only one win in Pasadena since 1996 (2018).

Last season, Washington won the first matchup as Big Ten foes. Jonah Coleman scored two touchdowns for the Huskies. On the UCLA side, Ethan Garbers tossed a pair of touchdowns and 267 yards. This recent result supports our Washington vs UCLA spread analysis for Saturday night CFB.
