The MTV Video Music Award nominations were announced on Tuesday and there weren’t a lot of surprises.

The likes of Taylor Swift, Mark Ronson, Kendrick Lamar, and Beyonce litter the noms, while lesser known artists – and their lower-budget videos – were either ignored or relegated to categories likes “Video with a Social Message”. (But, even there, you’ve got your requisite dose of Rihanna and Kanye.)

While we can’t do anything about the nominees, we can use our immense prognosticatorial (it’s a real word, but don’t look for it in a dictionary; it’s too real for that) abilities to set the odds on who will be taking home a Spaceman or two when the VMAs air on August 30th.
