Oh, Jake Paul. Why couldn’t you just stick to posting your silly little YouTube videos and stay out of trouble?
The 23-year-old former Disney Channel star and current provocateur bad boy is worth millions. But he also can’t stay out of trouble.
Paul just wrapped a music video and party at his home last month, host to around 100 people. Production and partying occurred all while ignoring social distancing guidelines. Though the mayor of Calabasas shamed him for this behavior, these antics aren’t his biggest cause for concern.
Back in May, Ryan was called out online for participating in riots that occurred across the United States. Though he denied being involved in any looting at the time, it seems his actions have finally caught up with him.
On August 5, the star’s Calabasas, California, mansion was raided by the FBI as part of an ongoing investigation related to his May arrest for looting and vandalism at a mall in Scottsdale, Arizona. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, During the raid, police officers seized multiple guns from his property. Now sportsbooks are offering odds on whether he’ll end up in jail and when his social-media silence will come to an end.

Back in May, riots reigned across the United States with the attention on Black Lives Matter taking the public focus away from COVID-19. After George Floyd’s killing, the entire country stood up to fight back. And then the looting happened.
Paul was caught on film at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and the footage was plastered across social media by videographer Andrew Blue. Paul was charged with criminal trespassing and unlawful assembly.

Additionally, his reputation suffered while fans and critics alike slammed the millionaire for looting businesses in the name of a social cause during a global pandemic no less.
In a statement, the FBI has stated it is “executing a federal search warrant at a residence in Calabasas in connection with an ongoing investigation. The affidavit in support of the search warrant has been sealed by a judge and I am, therefore, prohibited from commenting as to the nature of the investigation.”
News footage, however, has identified the home to indeed be that of Jake Paul. It’s sort of hard to deny who the person in question is when there is footage of the home circulating the internet.
While that is definitely Paul’s home, it’s doubtful he’ll end up in jail for this before the end of the calendar year.
Naturally, the court system is a little slow to the draw in placing folks behind bars for their crimes. Adding into this situation, you have to factor that, throughout COVID-19, fewer folks are being locked up. In some cases, like that of Tekashi 6ix9ine stars, inmates are being released early.

Though he loosely alluded to the FBI paid on his Instagram story, he hasn’t posted anything on Twitter since July 31. Back then he was acknowledging his upcoming fight against Nate Robinson and posting about how excited he was that Mike Tyson knew who he was.
Nearly two weeks into August, Paul is quiet as a mouse in the Twitterverse, though. There hasn’t been any update about his fight, any promotion of his controversial music video, and certainly no tweets about getting raided.

While the FBI searches further into Paul’s situation, you might guess he’d sit prettily and keep his lips and fingers still. But if you’d guess that, you don’t know Jake Paul at all. Odds are on Paul to say something pretty quick, with best bets on the August 10-16 time frame. It just makes sense.
Whether or not the FBI wraps on the Paul search, chances are he’s clamoring to get back to his social media enterprise. He’ll chime in sooner than later.
