Sports Fool of the Year Bracket: The Championship!
Give me a second while I ready my larynx for my best monster truck announcer voice: GET EXCITED FIGHT-FANS, IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS! FOR ONE WEEK ONLY, THE TWO BIGGEST IDIOTS IN THE WORLD OF SPORTS WILL GO HEAD TO HEAD FOR STUPIDITY SUPREMACY!
Thanks to your votes, 30 dummies have been eliminated in SBD’s Sports Fool of the Year bracket, leaving only a pair of deserving foes in the title matchup. In the blue corner, we have the hot-takes of no. 13 seed Skip Bayless. In the red corner, we have the endless antics of pre-tournament favorite and no. 1 seed LaVar Ball.
In the last round, we were expecting LaVar to get pushed by divisive NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Evidently, we don’t have many readers in and around the Foxborough area, and LaVar cruised to the win with over 86% of the vote. It was just the latest in a string of dominant victories for the greatest one-on-one basketball player in history (if you ask him).
Skip got a stiffer test in the Foolish Four, eking out a 52-48% win over Johnny Football. His continued unwillingness to acknowledge the greatness of LeBron James proved crucial. Does he have the lunacy to upset LaVar? Timing is certainly on his side. With the NBA Finals starting this week, the time is right for a “Why the Celtics are actually better than the Cavs” rant.
