Portugal starts their road to the Euro 2016 next Sunday, September 7th in Da Luz Stadium at 2:45 ET, against the weak Albania on the group I of the European Qualifiers.

For this game, Portugal is the heavy favorite in the Soccer odds listed -400, +450 in case of a draw and a huge +1100 in an eventual Albania victory.

The game represents the first after a horrible World Cup in Brazil for the Lusitanian. Paulo Bento, head coach of Portugal, is aware of the importance and has called all the usual figures for the game except Cristiano Ronaldo, injured since the first game of the Spain Super cup final against Atletico de Madrid.

Yes, the game is important, and Bento knows it, but neither Portugal squad nor Real Madrid would put the recently named best player of the 2013 Uefa Champions League body in risk, on local game vs. the weak Albania. They have enough players to confront the match.

“He is not competing conditions,” said the Portuguese Football Federation in a press release about CR7 health.

On the other side, Albania arrives at the game with the hope of beating Portugal for the first time in their history, or at least get a draw as they did back in 2008 in Braga when they tied 0-0 with Carlos Queiroz as the Portugal coach.

This is the first meeting both teams have in a UEFA Competition. In the past, they have played five times with four victories of Portugal and only one draw.
