A strong field has been assembled at the European Tour’s Aberdeen Investments Scottish Open, which is being held at the Renaissance Club for the second straight year.
Bernd Wiesberger returns as the defending champion, after winning in a playoff over Benjamin Hebert shooting 22-under-par last year.
Several other European Ryder Cup players will be teeing it up, including betting favorite Tommy Fleetwood and Martin Kaymer, who has missed out on a playoff by one shot in two consecutive European Tour events that he’s played in.

Martin Kaymer Poised for Victory
It’s hard to believe that after Martin Kaymer destroyed the field by eight strokes to claim the 2014 US Open that he still hasn’t won anywhere in the world.
After a few lean years where he admitted he didn’t have the same drive to be the best, the German has had a career renaissance this season.

In his last two European Tour starts, Kaymer has very nearly got the monkey off his back, losing in a playoff in back-to-back tournaments by just a single stroke.
His game has come back to form, where he leads the tour in both total strokes gained, and approaching the green categories.
Kaymer was a respectable T-20th at this track last year, so he’s had some success on this course and in seven non-major European Tour events in 2020, he’s been inside the top-16 in six of them. As the fifth favorite on the board at +2200, you’re also still getting some value on him.
Last Five Scottish Open Winners

2018 | Brandon Stone (-20) |
2017 | Rafa Cabrera Bello (-13) playoff |
2016 | Alex Noren (-14) |

Aberdeen Investments Scottish Open Best Value Picks
- Rasmus Hojgaard (+2700): The 19-year-old Danish sensation has been taking the tour by storm, where he won, finished second, third and T-6th in four straight events before his most recent T-31st result. Fourth in strokes gained off the tee, seventh in total strokes gained and twelfth approaching the green on the campaign.
- John Catlin (+4500): The 29-year-old American late bloomer has been on a tear, winning last week’s Irish Open for his second European Tour victory in his last three starts to go along with a T-8. Third in SG: around the green, fourth in total strokes gained, eighth in scoring average and 14th in putting shows a strong all-around game.
- Benjamin Hebert (+4800): Very good odds for a golfer who nearly nabbed this title on this course last year, where he lost in a playoff to Bernd Wiesberger. Posted at T-3rd result just three starts ago. Eighth in strokes gained approaching the green this season, which bodes well to set himself up for bunches of birdie opportunities.
