- The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tees off Thursday, February 3rd
- Patrick Cantlay is the +700 favorite to win over defending champion Daniel Berger
- We’ve narrowed down the golfers with the best chance of emerging victorious and provided the best value bets below
The always entertaining AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is back, and so are the celebrities and three courses being used in the rotation. Last year, the usual cast of celebs did not tee it up due to COVID-19 protocols, with just two tracks being used. This go around, Bill Murray and co. are back, in addition to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
As has been the case in recent years, the field lacks depth, with tournament favorite Patrick Cantlay and 2017 champion Jordan Spieth the only top-15 golfers teeing it up. Defending champion Daniel Berger, who rolled in a lengthy eagle putt on the 72nd hole to win by two last year, returns.
The first three rounds the players will compete once on each of the Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Monterey Peninsula courses, where there will then be a cut made, then everyone plays Pebble Beach for Sunday’s final round.

Odds as of February 1st at FanDuel Sportsbook
Cantlay, who finished third last season is the favorite to win, while Will Zalatoris, who lost a playoff at the Farmers Insurance Open, sported very short odds to get his first win this week. With him now withdrawn due to COVID-19, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth have seen their odds shorten.
Jason Day Thrives at Pebble Beach
It has been nearly four years since Jason Day won the last of his twelve PGA Tour titles, but he very nearly added to his trophy collection last weekend at Torrey Pines. The popular Aussie was tied with three holes to go before falling just short to post a T-3rd finish.
He’s also done everything but win at this famed tournament, posting eight career top seven’s, yet that victory has proven elusive. Since 2017, his results at this event are as follows: T-5th, T-2nd, T-4th, 4th, T-7th.
Unsurprisingly, his strokes gained stats in the last eight rounds at Pebble Beach have been fantastic.
Jason Day’s Strokes Gained Last 8 Rounds at Pebble Beach
| Short Game | Around-The-Green | Total | Putting | Tee-To-Green | Off-The-Tee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 4 | 6 | 6 | 11 |
It would seem Day has to bust through and finally get a title that has been within his grasp so often in his career, especially after such a strong Farmers Insurance Open. With +2000 odds, you’re getting him at better value than the top-three golfers on the board.
Last Five AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Winners

| 2017 | Jordan Spieth |
2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Best Value Picks
- Maverick McNealy (+2800): Last season, Maverick McNealy very nearly won his first PGA Tour title here, but he ended up runner-up to Daniel Berger. That week he gained over eight shots on his competitors tee-to-green. At last week’s Farmers Insurance Open, he was in contention after 54 holes, just three shots behind. He’s fourth in scoring average on the campaign, and already has another runner-up to his credit.
- Kevin Streelman (+5500): Since 2016, Kevin Streelman has posted six straight top-20’s at this tournament, including three top-10’s. Those were sixth in 2018, T-7th in 2019 and second in 2020. In the last twelve rounds at Pebble, he’s first in total strokes gained, ball striking, tee-to-green and approach.
- Michael Thompson (+6600): Two-time PGA Tour champion Michael Thompson has been popping up on leaderboards recently, with a T-5th at the Sony Open three starts ago then a T-11th at Torrey Pines the last time he teed it up. For those two events, he gained over seven shots tee-to-green compared to his contemporaries in Hawaii and 6.5 shots in that same category at the Farmers Insurance Open.
