Ricardo Pinto is broken. The SK Hurler has been getting smacked all around the yard for well over a month now, dropping five straight starts along the way. Unfortunately, the Wyverns are incredibly short on starting pitching depth, and will trot out Pinto for another outing on Friday at 5:30 am EST, against KIA.

 KBO Odds: Friday, August 28th

Odds as of Aug. 27th.

Not surprisingly, the Tigers opened up as a -146 road favorite. They’ll be looking to bounce back from an ugly 10-4 loss to SK on Thursday, and have fared well against Pinto this season.

Pinto Starts are Painful

Two weeks ago, the Tigers teed off on Pinto in one of his shortest outings of the season. The right-hander surrendered 11 hits and eight runs to KIA in just 4 innings.

That game marked the second time in three starts he’d allowed at least eight runs, and he’s given up a total of 29 runs during his personal five-game losing streak. He hasn’t recorded a victory in his last eight outings, and has just one quality start since June 16th.

The Tigers meanwhile, will give the ball to Hyun Jong Yang, who’s fresh off 6 scoreless innings versus Kiwoom. He’s 2-0 versus the Wyverns this season, posting a 2.89 ERA in three starts.
Pick: KIA Tigers moneyline (-146)

KT Wiz and LG Stay Low

LG shutout KT Wiz 2-0 on Thursday, and the Suwon might be hard pressed to generate offense again on Friday. That’s because they’ll be facing Tyler Wilson who has been red-hot recently. The 30-year-old has won four of his past five starts, and has held opposing teams to two runs or less in five of his last seven outings.

One those starts was against this same KT Wiz squad, and it was pretty to watch. Wilson scattered three hits and surrendered just a single run in 6 innings, while striking out six. His ERA is now down to 3.82 and his 12 quality starts rank seventh in the KBO.

The Suwon will counter with Heyong Jun So, who’s been just as good as Wilson recently, if not better. The 18-year-old has won four straight starts, allowing just two runs in the process. Expect this to be a low scoring affair.

Pick: Under 9.5 (-136)

Can’t Fade Dinos at Plus Money

First place NC has won three straight, yet find themselves as +120 home underdogs on the moneyline versus Doosan.

That kind of value is too good to pass up, especially considering who the Bears will be starting. Doosan will send Hui Kwan Yu to the mound, who has pitched well recently, but has still earned just one win in his last seven starts. Four separate times this season he’s allowed at least five runs, and none of the teams that hit him hard possess an offense anywhere close to as good as the Dinos. NC has scored 28 times in its last three games and should have no problem racking up more runs on Friday.

Pick: NC Dinos moneyline (+120)
