A new week of KBO action begins Tuesday at 5:30 am EST, with all 10 teams back in action. Perhaps the most compelling matchup will take place between KT Wiz and Doosan, as Suwon’s ace Odrisamer Despaigne will try to shut down the defending champs.

Odds as of June 1st.

Despaigne Has Been Dominating

If Despaigne’s last outing is any indication, the Bears could be in a for a long night. The 33-year-old stymied KIA through eight scoreless innings, scattering just four hits and striking out seven.

He ranks top-three in ERA, WHIP and quality starts and has allowed just two earned runs in his last three outings combined. He’s yet to lose in five starts this season and he’ll face a Doosan squad that has cooled down considerably as of late. The Bears were rocked 8-3 by Lotte on Sunday, and are averaging to just three runs a game over their last five.

KT Wiz’s offense is certainly no juggernaut, but they did put up 15 runs in their final two games over the weekend. They also have a more favorable matchup versus Hui Kwon Yu, who they’ve already faced this season.

Pick: KT Wiz Suwon moneyline (-120)

A Giant Opportunity for KIA

Speaking of favorable matchups, that’s exactly what’s waiting for the Tigers on Tuesday. They’ll square off against the Giants’ Se Woong Park, who’s made it out of the 4th inning in just one of four starts. His last outing resulted in an 11-1 loss to Samsung, and he’s currently sporting a 6.50 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP.

Kia meanwhile, came alive over the weekend racking up 25 runs, including 13 in Sunday’s win over LG. They’ll counter with Ki Young Im, who completely dominated Lotte two weeks ago. He held the Giants to just one run over eight innings in a convincing 6-1 victory.

Lotte was dropped four of five, and has scored two runs or less in five of its last seven.

Pick: KIA Tigers -1.5 (+105)

Cautiously Backing the Eagles

After targeting Hanwha repeatedly over its current eight-game losing streak, Tuesday seems like a decent chance to buy back in. The Eagles are hosting the Kiwoom Heroes, who’ve dropped five of their last seven.

Kiwoom will trot out Hyun Hee Han, who’s been rocked for 11 runs in just over nine innings in his last two starts. He didn’t make it out of the fourth inning versus NC last week, and has an ugly 6.64 ERA.

Hanwha will give the ball to EE Whan Kim, who’s allowed two runs or less in three of four starts, including versus the Heroes a few weeks back.

Yes, the Eagles have been struggling mightily on offense, but catching 1.5 runs with minimal juice is too good an opportunity to pass up versus a mediocre Kiwoom squad.

Pick: Hanwha Eagles +1.5 (-115)
