  • The top of the KBO standings is tight, with four teams separated by just two games
  • The Kiwoom Heroes will try to extend their winning streak with Choi Won-tae  on the mound
  • Odds and best bets for all Korea Baseball Organization action on June 23rd can be found in the article below

A new week means fresh matchups in the latest slate of games in the Korea Baseball Organization. We’re approaching the one-third mark of the season, which means year-long sample sizes are only getting stronger.

Of course, daily and weekly trends are important to focus on, too. Last week, 17 of the 29 games played were decided by either one or two runs. That’s awfully tight!

That should be a reminder that sometimes one pitch, one swing or one throw can make all the difference between a win and a loss — for players and bettors alike.

Before diving into the three best bets for Tuesday’s KBO games, here’s a look at the entire slate. All games start at 5:30 am ET (2:30 am PT).

KBO Odds: Tuesday, June 23

NC Dinos -145 -1.5 (+105) Under 9.5 (-115)

Odds as of June 22.

Hot vs. Cold

The Kiwoom Heroes (25-17) are the league’s hottest team, riding a five game win streak. Before that, they took two of three against the first-place NC Dinos, as one of six wins in their past seven series.

The LG Twins (25-16), on the other hand, are among the coldest teams. They’ve lost their past three, but they maintain a half-game edge on Kiwoom in the standings.

LG will start 20-year-old Yun-sik Kim, the third-overall draft pick in 2020. He has only pitched in relief so far this season, collecting an unsightly 7.56 ERA in eight outings.

For Kiwoom, a team known far more for its pitching than its hitting, this helps. Riding a hot streak into the series helps, too.

Pick: Kiwoom (-155); Under 10 runs (-110)

Champs Respond With Streak

After losing four consecutive games — by a combined six runs — the reigning KBO-champion Doosan Bears (25-16) have responded with a run of four-straight wins.

The reward for their efforts is a date with the SK Wyverns (10-32), who’ve lost six in a row and nine of 10. Amazingly, the Wyverns held a lead at some point in seven of those nine recent losses. They just couldn’t buy a break.

Doosan took two of three against SK earlier this year, in low-scoring games that averaged only 7.7 total runs/game.

Pick: Doosan Bears (-185); Under 10 runs (-115)

A Recipe For Runs

If by chance you plan on rising early (or staying up late) to watch some KBO action, I suggest tuning in for the NC Dinos game against KT Wiz Suwon.

The Dinos are the league’s top-scoring offense and Suwon is not far behind. Together, they average 12.3 runs per game.

When these teams last faced each other, the scores were low. But don’t be fooled: there’s a reason they rank first and second in slugging percentage. This should be a slugfest!

Pick: NC Dinos (-145); Over 9.5 (-115)
