  • The NC Dinos remain the KBO’s hottest team, with seven wins in a row
  • Despite still being outside the playoff picture, KT Wiz Suwon is surging with four-straight wins
  • Check out the odds and best bets for the KBO’s five-game slate on May 20th in the article below

When a team is riding a hot streak — as a pair of KBO teams currently are — how do you know when it’s time to lean a different way? When looking at the NC Dinos (seven straight wins) and KT Wiz Suwon (four straight), that question should be on the minds of bettors every day.

The Dinos won their fifth one-run game in their current streak on Tuesday. They’re clearly living on the edge. As for KT Wiz, a bullpen implosion made their Tuesday outcome appear much closer than it was.

Here’s a look at the entire slate of KBO games for Wednesday, May 20th. Note that all games start at 5:30am ET (2:30am PT).

Odds taken May 19.

A Dominant Dino

NC saw its moneyline odds versus the Doosan Bears dip ever so slightly (from -120 on Tuesday to -116 on Wednesday), making a razor-thin margin even finer. But based on who the Dinos are starting on the mound Wednesday, bettors should feel good about riding the hot hand.

Chang-mo Koo will pitch for the Dinos, after tossing 14 scoreless innings (with 18 strikeouts) in his first two starts. Simply put, no one has been more dominant on the mound in the early stages of the KBO season than Koo.

Doosan counters with an unbeaten pitcher of its own, Chris Flexen, who has a respectable 3.75 ERA through two starts. Koo and the Dinos have the edge here, but it’s reasonable to think these pitchers can help harness two of the league’s top offenses.

Pick: NC Dinos moneyline (-116); Under 9 (-125)

Under The Radar Favorite

With all the talk of Lotte’s surprise start, NC’s winning streak, and the offensive surge of Doosan, the LG Twins (8-4) have flown a bit under the radar as the second-place team in the KBO.

Since rallying with a seven-run eighth inning against NC on May 10, the Twins have won seven of their past eight. They throttled the Samsung Lions on Tuesday, scoring 10 runs in the first four innings before coasting to a 10-6 win.

The Lions have really struggled, and they give up runs in bunches, but credit the Twins with a turnaround in recent days after a slow start.

Pick: LG Twins moneyline (-170); Over 9 (-115)

KT Wiz Are For Real

Are you a KT Wiz believer yet? After an unconscionable four straight one-run losses, Suwon has come back to outscore opponents 46-21 in four straight wins. On Tuesday, they allowed a nine-run seventh inning to Hanwha that turned a blowout into merely a 13-11 win.

Still, it’s clear that Suwon had been underperforming earlier this season and is now enjoying some sweet, sweet positive regression. Runs might be harder to come by as both teams deploy starters with sub-3.01 ERAs, but count on Suwon to provide enough offensive punch for the over to hit anyway.

Pick: KT Wiz Suwon moneyline (-170); Over 9.5 (-125)
