Celta de Vigo (+300) vs. Atletico de Madrid (+105) (Draw +225)

Atletico de Madrid chased Real Madrid out of town last weekend with an impressive 4-0 win at home. Now, the Red and Whites hit the road to face Celta de Vigo at Balaidos Stadium this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Eastern.

Atletico are the slight favorites to win the battle against Celta, listed at +105 in the moneyline. Meanwhile, the home team is +300, and the draw +225.

In the head-to-head, Los Colchoneros lead the series against Celta with 14 wins and only eight losses in all competitions. They are also unbeaten in seven straight against Celta (5-2-0).

Atletico could be without midfielder Jorge Koke Resurreccion due to a left thigh injury, though. Losing Koke would be a significant setback for the team; he has played 1,705 minutes in 20 games, assisting on eight of the team’s 47 goals.

In the standings, Atletico are third with 50 points (16-2-4) and are now just four points back of league-leading Real Madrid. Celta is right in the middle of the table, sitting tenth with 25 points (6-7-9).

Celta’s recent results mirror their average ranking; the team is 2-2-2 in the last six games, drawing Real Sociedad (1-1) in their last outing.

Celta has proven time and again this year that they are better than La Liga’s basement-dwellers, but not on par with the top clubs in Spanish football. As a result, bet Atletico to win.
