This will be the 18^th start of Syndergaard’s career against the Marlins. He is 5-6 with a 3.15 ERA and has a 2-3 record and 4.26 ERA in eight outings at Nationals Park.

Syndergaard is just 1-4 on the road in five starts this season and has a 5.63 ERA. He has all make 11 starts in 2022 at night in a bit of a statistical oddity.

Alcantara continued his outstanding season last Wednesday by pitching a complete-game victory over the Cardinals in St. Louis. He allowed three runs (two earned) and seven hits while striking out three and walking one.

Alcantara has never faced the Angels.
