Angels vs White Sox Odds, Picks, and Predictions (April 29)
- The Chicago White Sox are -125 home favorites over the Los Angeles Angels in an American League game scheduled for Friday, April 29
- LA has won two in a row and four of five games from the ChiSox
- Below, see the Angels vs White Sox odds and best bets for Friday
Years ago, the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels used to play in the same division. Luckily for the ChiSox, that’s no longer the case.
While Chicago is the beast of AL Central, they play absolutely ghastly when facing the Angels. LA is 4-1 over the past five games between the two teams. At Chicago, the Angels maintain a 7-2 edge through the past nine meetings.
Regardless, it’s the hometown White Sox who are set by oddsmakers as the -125 home favorites as these two old rivals renew hostilities on Friday. LA is 5-0 straight up through their past five games.

Los Angeles vs Chicago Probable Pitchers
Bettors get a quality matchup of ace righthanders on the mound, as Noah Syndergaard goes for the Angels against Lucas Giolito of the White Sox.
Syndergaard has already made more starts this season than last season, when continued recovery from Tommy John surgery limited him to two games with the New York Mets. So far, with his rebuilt new arm, Syndergaard is looking like his old self.
The Angels have a plus-13 run-differential through their first 18 games, and their most encouraging sign is not Mike Trout. It's this: Noah Syndergaard, Patrick Sandoval and Michael Lorenzen, three starters not named Shohei Ohtani, have combined for a 1.71 ERA in 47 1/3 innings.

Syndergaard, who didn’t pitch at all in 2020, is showing an impressive 0.82 WHIP. He’s allowed 10 hits and four earned runs in 17 innings while striking out 11.
He’s only faced the White Sox twice in his career, including one start and is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Over the course of 8.1 innings, he struck out 13, walked one and allowed five hits.
Syndergaard vs Giolito
2-0 | Record | 0-0 |
2.12 | ERA | 1.13 |
2.21 | xERA | 3.21 |
0.82 | WHIP | 1.25 |
2.75 | SO/W Ratio | 3.00 |
Giolito has allowed just five hits and one earned run in eight innings of work. He missed two starts after feeling a tweak in his lower left abdominal area on three straight pitches in the opening day game against the Detroit Tigers on April 9.

Following a stint on the IL, Giolito returned to action April 24. He worked another four innings and threw 76 pitches in a start against the Minnesota Twins. He’s struck out 15 while walking just five over his eight innings of work.
Giolito is 2-0 with a 3.81 ERA in five career starts against the Angels. But he’s just 17-24 with a 4.17 ERA in his career at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Take the solid record the Angels have posted both overall and in Chicago against the White Sox. then factor in how scintillating Syndergaard is looking on the bump.

Finally, take into account how the 7-10 White Sox are scuffling so far this season and that Giolito is likely to be on a pitch count and the upset play makes perfect sense.
