Probable Pitchers

It can only go up for 23-year-old Bryan Woo.

The righty had a forgettable first career start, lit up by the division-leading Texas Rangers 16-6 on June 3. Woo lasted just two innings, surrendering seven hits and six earned runs. He issued one walk and struck out four.

Prior to getting the call up to Seattle, Woo had been with the M’s AA Arkansas affiliate in the Texas League, where he was 3-2 with a 2.05 ERA in nine starts. He struck out 59 batters in 44 innings.

On the year, Seattle’s pitching has been hovering around the top 10, with a team ERA of 4.02 (11th) while holding the opposition to a .243 average (T-12th). They do boast the 5th-best WHIP at 1.22.

Woo vs Sandoval Stats

27.00 ERA 4.14
4.00 WHIP 1.40
.571 OBA .327
4.00 SO/W Ratio 1.60

It’s been a struggle of late for Patrick Sandoval, who has taken losses in four straight outings to fall to 3-5 on the season. The latest was a 9-6 thumping at the hands of the Houston Astros, who chased the lefty after just 3.1 innings of work.

Sandoval was tagged with eight hits and six earned runs, walking three and striking out four. It was his shortest outing of the season.

Prior to that start, he pitched well enough to win against the Marlins, but didn’t get any offensive help in a 2-0 loss. Sandoval went six innings, scattering eight hits and giving up just two earned runs, striking out two with two walks.

Seattle vs Los Angeles Player Prop Picks

After pulling double-duty last night, we get to focus Ohtani as just a hitter. He’s coming off a 3-hit night against the M’s, including a towering home run, giving him 17 on the year, tied for fourth in the majors.

Ohtani has had hits in six straight games, and has had at least two total bases in all but one of them. He’s getting -111 odds for 1.5 total bases, and is fourth in the bigs with 138.

On the Mariners’ side, the books are banking on the law of averages when it comes to catcher Tom Murphy. The right-handed batter is a career 0-for-9 against Sandoval, yet he’s getting +100 odds to go under 0.5 hits Saturday, as opposed to -173 odds to break through.

He has just four hits in 21 at-bats across the last eight games. That under is definitely worth a sprinkle.
