The Red Sox and Dodgers are two of the hottest teams in baseball, with Los Angeles owning the most wins in the National League and Boston rounding back into form after a shaky start.

A Red Sox and Dodgers Rematch Presents Value

The Red Sox were an American League worst 6-13 after 19 games, but since then they’ve been on a tear winning 16 of their last 22, while outscoring their opponents by 69 runs.

Since April 23rd, their offense ranks first in the Majors in runs scored, batting average, and OBP, while their pitching staff ranks first in ERA, opponent batting average, and opponent OPS.

The Dodgers, meanwhile, have scored an NL best 227 runs, and are top three in home runs, OPS, ERA, opponent batting average, and quality starts.

Hyun-Jim Ryu is a legit Cy Young candidate, while Cody Bellinger is hitting above .400 and is firmly in the triple crown conversation.

Simply put, these are two of the best teams in baseball and to see a potential World Series rematch priced at +1800 screams value. Naysayers will be quick to point out there hasn’t been a World Series rematch since 1978, but in a league with so little parity, it’s only a matter of time before it happens again.

Favorite Long Shot Matchup

You need great pitching to win championships, and few teams have as much depth at the position as the Rays and the Cubs. Chicago has allowed an NL low 133 earned runs this season and has the best ERA in the Majors since April 8th.

The Rays’ pitching staff, meanwhile, ranks first in the AL in ERA, WHIP, runs allowed, and opponent batting average. Each one of their qualified starters has a positive WAR, and they’ve stranded an MLB best 78.6% of the runners they’ve allowed to reach base.

Chicago and Tampa Bay have two of the highest positive run differentials in the Majors and +3600 is a tempting price for a potential World Series showdown.
