The Rangers beat the Angels 7-3 on Sunday. The win ended LA’s five-game win streak over Texas. It was just the second time in 10 games that the Rangers emerged victorious over the Angels.
Oddsmakers aren’t expecting a repeat performance in the finale of this four-game series on Monday. The Angels are set as the -140 favorites to return to their winning ways. The Rangers are 4-8 in their last 12 road games against the Angels.

Rangers right-hander AJ Alexy made his MLB debut August 30. He worked five innings of one-hit shutout ball and got the win as Texas beat the Colorado Rockies 4-3. Alexy struck out four and walked three. His maximum exit velocity of 103.7 is among the top 7% in the American League.
He was 3-1 with a 1.66 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 16 minor-league appearances this season at the Double-A and Triple-A levels. Ten of those 16 appearances were starts. Alexy averaged 10.5 strikeouts per nine innings in the minors. He allowed just 39 hits over 65 innings while striking out 76 batters.

Angels right-hander Jaime Barria was 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA during the month of August. That followed a July in which he went 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA. He’s 1-1 at home this season and 1-1 on the road.
Barria has failed to get through the fifth inning in each of his last four starts. He’s surrendered 30 hits and five home runs over his last 18.2 innings of work. Barria is 1-1 against AL West opposition this season.
