Rodón met the definition of a quality start in Game 2 against the Red Sox last Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts over 6.0 innings in a 4-3 win that kept New York’s season alive.

He made two starts against Toronto in the regular season. The only gave up four runs over 10.0 innings, but his WHIP was an inflated 1.90 over those two starts: on June 30, he allowed two runs on five hits and three walks over 5.0 innings with four Ks; on Jul 21, he allowed two runs on six hits and five walks over 5.0 innings with another four Ks.

The Yankees lost both games (5-4, 4-1).

Bieber only made seven starts for the Blue Jays in the regular season and none came against the Yankees. Altogether, New York’s hitters have 52 at-bats against the 6’3 righty and they haven’t been productive. Bieber has limited the NYY lineup to just a .488 OPS. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton have both taken him deep. No other Yankee players have an extra-base hit off Bieber.
