The first pitch is slated to be thrown at 1:05pm ET on Saturday, May 21 at Yankee Stadium. While Friday’s series opener was rained out, Saturday’s forecast is calling for clear skies, 11 mph wind and a temperature of 91 degrees.

While a solid straight up  play, the Yankees are just 20-18 against the runline and 9-9 at home. The White Sox are 18-20 ATR and 11-8 ATR away from home.

Across the leading sportsbooks, New York is the -220 odds-on favorite to win the division in the AL East odds. Despite their struggles, the White Sox remain the -170 odds-on chalk to emerge with the AL Central flag.

Southpaw Showdown In The Bronx

In this battle of lefties, it’s the White Sox who are sending a former Cy Young Award winner to the hill. But it’s the Yankees who are favored.

Dallas Keuchel won the AL Cy Young Award with the Houston Astros in 2015. However, this year, he’s looking nothing like that pitcher. Keuchel’s ERA (5.54) is a career high and his strikeouts/walks ratio (1.07) is a career low. His 1.96 WHIP is Keuchel’s worst since his 2012 rookie campaign.

Keuchel did work five shutout innings against the Yankees in his last start on May 14. He’s 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA over his past two starts. Keuchel is 1-1 with an 11.57 ERA in two road starts.

He’s 4-4 with a 2.06 ERA in 10 career starts against the Yanks. At Yankee Stadium, Keuchel is 3-2 with a 2.43 ERA in six starts.

New York lefty Nestor Cortes is 2-1 over his last four starts. He got the win over the White Sox in May 15, allowing three hits and one earned run on a solo homer over eight innings.

Cortes has worked into the eighth inning in each of his last two starts, allowing just that one earned run over the course of 15.1 innings pitched.

In his second stint with the Bronx Bombers, Cortes is 9-5 over his career with the Yanks. He’s 3-0 in three career appearances against the White Sox, two of them starts. His ERA over 19 innings of work when facing the ChiSox is 1.89.
