One of those clubs is the Toronto Blue Jays, who host the Yankees in Game 1 of a three-game set on Tuesday. Toronto is one game back of Boston for the final Wild Card berth, and two games behind New York, with six games remaining.

Probable Pitchers
Toronto will give the ball to Hyun Jin Ryu, who’s just been activated from the 10-day injured list. Ryu was placed on the IL with a neck injury following two of his worst outings of the season.
I'm having a hard time coming to grips with having more trust in Steven Matz than Hyun Jin Ryu. #BlueJays

He’s lasted only two innings in each of his past two starts, surrendering a total of 13 hits, 12 runs, and four homers. Last time out, he was rocked for five runs by Minnesota in a 7-3 defeat, and in the previous outing Baltimore touched him up for seven runs and eight hits.
Dating back to August 8th, he’s coughed up at least four runs in five of his past eight starts, surrendering seven runs three times.

New York will counter with Jameson Taillon, who’s fresh off an IL stint of his own. The right-hander tore a tendon in his ankle, and Tuesday will mark his return after a three week absence.
Prior to the injury, Taillon had not been pitching well. He’d allowed at least three runs in five straight starts, and coughed up 14 runs in his past three outings.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Pick
With so much at stake this week, all three of these Yankees-Jays games are going to feel like playoff baseball. New York enters Tuesday winners of six straight and have produced at least six runs in four of their last five.

Toronto meanwhile, is fresh off back-to-back victories, scoring 11 runs in the process. They’ve hit Taillon hard in both meetings this season, and have crossed the plate at least five times in four straight versus New York.
They boast baseball’s best slugging percentage and OPS, and should feast on the struggling righty. Ryu on the other hand, is dealing with is own issues and we shouldn’t expect him to neutralize the Bronx Bombers.
Pick: Over 9 (-110)
