Odds as of Oct 5th at DraftKings.

The weather at Fenway Park tonight is expected to be overcast with a temperature of 59° and a light 5 MPH wind blowing in from left field. Overall, it shouldn’t have much of an impact on the game.

Cole Hasn’t Been Great Versus Boston

Gerrit Cole has a spotty track record against this Red Sox lineup. Overall, the players dressing tonight are batting .257 in 154 at-bats with eight homers and seven doubles. Rafael Devers has been all-or-nothing when facing the Yankee ace; he only has four hits in 19 at-bats and has struck out eight times, but three of his four hits were home runs.

In four starts against the Bo-Sox this season, he recorded more than 6.5 strikeouts twice (11 and 8) and exactly six the other two times.

That said, his playoff history is rock solid. In his last eight postseason starts (2019 and 2020), he has recorded more than 6.5 Ks seven times, including all three of his starts in the 2020 playoffs.

Pick: Cole over 6.5 strikeouts (-160)

The Yankees Aren’t Intimidated by Eovaldi

If this game was taking place in August, it would be tempting to fade the Yankee bats against Eovaldi. He faced them five times between Opening Day and August 17. All told, he went 34.1 innings over those five starts while surrendering just six earned runs. He had 34 total strikeouts and fanned at least six hitters each time out.

But two weeks ago, when he saw New York for a whopping sixth time, he was absolutely torched. He lasted just 2.2 innings, gave up seven hits, two walks, and seven earned runs without recording a single strikeout.

Adding to the concern, in his lone start against the Yankees in 2020, he was touched up for nine hits and eight earned runs in 5.1 innings of work.

A number of hitters in tonight’s lineup have excellent career numbers against the 31-year-old righty. Aaron Judge is 8-for-20 (.400 batting average) with two doubles, a walk, a home run and only three strikeouts. Anthony Rizzo is 5-for-9 (.556 BA) with three doubles and two RBI.

Joey Gallo is one player who has struggled badly against Eovaldi. He’s just 1-for-7 with three strikeouts. If you want to fade a Yankee, he’s the one.

Picks: Anthony Rizzo over 0.5 hits (-220); Joey Gallo under 0.5 hits (-110)
