  • KSW 48 goes on Saturday, April 27th at 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Who will hoist KSW Featherweight gold over their head before the night ends?
  • I cover the odds and predictions for the card in greater detail

KSW 48: Szymański vs. Parnasse goes live from Lublin, Poland at Hala Globus. The Polish promotional powerhouse (KSW) returns with their 48th installment and there are several intriguing fights. There’s a Featherweight Championship bout at the top of the marquee, a likely number one contender’s match in the Featherweight ranks, and it will all be broadcast via FITE TV. My prediction and analysis for KSW 48 can be found below.

Parnasse Finesses Szymanski

Roman Szymański and Salahdine Parnasse vie for 12 pounds of gold in the 145 lb division. Parnasse is riding an eight-fight win streak (12-0-1 record) and the Frenchman has yet to taste defeat in his Pro MMA career. Szymański has the slight edge in KSW/ total career experience but the Polish pugilist is still slated as the underdog.

Szymański vs Parnasse Odds

Fighter Odds
Roman Szymański +325
Salahdine Parnasse -450

Interim belts are becoming more popular as of late in mixed-martial arts and KSW is getting in on that trend by booking this bout.  Szymański will have the partisan favour of the crowd being that he’s a fellow countryman. Parnasse has a varied skill-set and I think he’ll put in a multi-faceted performance this weekend.

Parnasse already has defeated former Featherweight champions in KSW as evidenced by his W over Artur Sowinski at KSW 43. The lone draw he has on his record he rectified in his very next fight when Parnasse got a victory over LiGe Teng. To the point of fighting former KSW champions, Szymański conversely lost to a former promotional champion when he was defeated by Marcin Wrzosek at KSW 41.

I have Parnasse all day in this fight. The Frenchman has yet to taste defeat, has some high level wins already, and Szymański  hasn’t been super consistent as of late. I’m picking Parnasse at KSW 48.

Pick: Parnasse (-450)

Jurkowski Defeats Bekavac

The co-main event prize fight features two Light-Heavyweight bruisers going at it. Bekavac has experience on the Russian circuit (via ACB and Fight Nights Global) and is making his organizational debut with KSW. Jurkowski has literally been with the promotion since the beginning. He debuted at the inaugural event where Jurkowski fought three times in a single evening to win an Openweight Tournament.

Jurkowski vs Bekavac Odds

Fighter Odds
Łukasz Jurkowski -105
Stjepan Bekavac -125

This is one of those fights that has ardent KSW fans champing at the bit. It’s one of those fights that, on paper, should deliver in a big way. Beyond the potential fireworks of the bout, it  could very well situate the winner favorably in that 205 lb hierarchy where everyone is clawing for that title bout.

Though Bekavac is coming off of a three-fight losing streak, he still has a 90% finishing rate.

Though Bekavac is coming off of a three-fight losing streak, he still has a 90% finishing rate. Bekavac shouldn’t be slept on or he could sleep you. I think Jurkowski’s edge lies in his strength of schedule. I think the KSW stalwart has a stronger looking resume with more notable names on it.

Jurkowski vs Bekavac Tale of the Tape

Jurkowski
VS

16-11 Record 19-9
4 Knockouts 13
6 Submissions 4
Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou

Significant Win(s) Eddie Sanchez
KSW Team Camp/ Team Affiliation Opatija Fight Club

This is a tight one, as evidenced by the odds, but I have Jurkowski. Jurkowski has defeated former divisional champions, it seems like he has a more diverse skill-set, and I think these factors will secure him a win on Saturday, April 27th at KSW 48.

Pick: Jurkowski (-105)
