KSW, the top promotion in Europe is back for their final show of 2019 on Saturday, December 7 and they are bringing arguably their biggest main event of the year together. UFC veteran and middleweight champion, Scott Askham is taking on Mamed Khalidov in a catchweight bout. Khalidov is a KSW legend and their former middleweight champ. The card also features undefeated prospects Aleksandra Rola and Karolina Owcarz.

Will Khalidov Return to the Win Column?

Scott Askham (18-4) is riding a four-fight winning streak where three of the fights have taken place in KSW. In his last fight, he knocked out Michal Materla in the third round to become the middleweight champion. He also holds wins over Marcin Wojcik, Materla again and in ACB beat Luke Barnett. In this UFC he went 2-4 with wins over Antonio dos Santos Jr. and Chris Dempsey while his notable losses came at the hands of Jack Hermansson and Krzystof Jotko.

Mamed Khalidov (34-6-2) has not fought since December of last year when he lost back-to-back fights to Tomasz Narkun. Before that, he was on a 15-fight unbeaten streak having 14 wins and one draw. He has notable wins over Melvin Manhoef, Kendall Grove, Jesse Taylor, and Martin Zawada among others.

This should be a very good fight between two of the biggest stars that KSW has. Khalidov is a fighter many fans in Europe and North America will change plans to watch. He is an exciting fighter and many thought when he retired he was done with the sport for good. Yet, he is coming back for a very good fight in Scott Askham.

Here, Askham is the younger and fresher fighter as well as the more active fighter. Askham will have the advantage on the feet while Khalidov has the ground and jiu-jitsu advantage. Yet, in Khalidov’s last two fights he did not look as good as many thought so I have to favor Askham here and I am surprised he is not a bigger favorite.

In the end, I have Askham winning by second or third-round TKO to win this KSW super fight.

Pick: Scott Askham (-125)

Karolina Owczarz vs Aleksandra Rola Odds

Fighter Odds
Karolina Owczarz +115
Aleksandra Rola -145

Who Will Remain Undefeated?

Karolina Owczarz (2-0) is set to make her third walk to the cage as a pro and third in KSW. In her first fight, she submitted Paulina Raszewska with a rear-naked choke in just one minute. After that, she edged out a very close split-decision over Marta Chojnoska earlier this year for her second win. Her and Rola were actually set to fight each other at KSW 47 but Rola had to pull out due to an injury.

Aleksandra Rola (3-0) made her promotional debut last time out and picked up a big win over Catherine Costigan by TKO in the second round. Before that, she fought in Granda PRO 6 and 7 where she beat Aleksandra Wypych and Anastasia Kulinich, both by decision.

This is a matchup that KSW wants to see who is the better prospect that they can start promoting.

Owczarz has the ground advantage and has very slick submission attempts while Rola is a power striker and can drop opponents with one punch. Here, I believe this fight will remain on the feet for the most part where Rola will be able to use her pressure and striking to pick apart Owczarz and piece her up to earn a third-round TKO or a unanimous decision win to remain undefeated and be KSW’s one of their top prospects.

Pick: Aleksandra Rola (-145)
