Jones vs Gane Odds & Predictions

Jon “Bones” Jones returns to the octagon for the first time in over three years on Saturday night. Jones, the brother of NFL players Chandler and Arthur, last fought in February of 2020, where he defeated Dominick Reyes via unanimous decision.

The former light heavyweight champion will attempt to become just the 8th fighter in UFC history to hold title belts in two different weight classes. Standing across from him in the cage will be Ciryl Gane, who came up short against Francis Ngannou in his previous bid for the heavyweight title.

A native of Paris, France, Gane has the size (6’4, 247 lbs) and movement skills necessary to cause Jones problems. Gane glides with the grace of a much lighter fighter, and has the striking talent to derail Jones’ shot at MMA glory. However, his ground game and overall grappling capabilities will be put to the test on Saturday night.

Ultimately, Jones lay-off and Gane’s striking prowess make UFC 285’s main event a captivating contest. That being said, Jones is arguably the greatest fighter in the history of the sport. Look for the now 35-year old to use his wrestling and grappling prowess to make Saturday a long night for Ciryl Gane. We’ve got two bets for this fight, as a tired Gane could be ripe for submission in the championship rounds.

UFC 285 Main Event Pick: Jon Jones to win the heavyweight title (-165), Jones to win by submission (+750)

Shevchenko vs Grasso Odds & Predictions

Valentina Shevchenko is a heavy -675 favorite to retain her flyweight title at UFC 285. This will be Shevchenko’s eighth defense of the women’s flyweight title she won in 2018.

Looking to make her own mark on the flyweight division, Alexa Grasso is on a four-fight win streak. The Guadalajara native has impressed lately and is coming off a dominant decision victory over Viviane Araujo.

Having said that, Shevchenko will aim to extend her winning streak to ten with a victory on Saturday night. With the eyes of the fighting world tuning in, look for Shevchenko to make a statement at UFC 285.

UFC 285 Co-Main Event Pick: Valentina Shevchenko to win (-675)
