Odds at Barstool Sportsbook as of September 14, 2022.

Sandhagen enters Saturday’s fight as a heavy -200 betting favorite with Song coming back as a +160 underdog.

Currently pegged at No. 4 in the rankings, Sandhagen has been idle since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Petr Yan at UFC 267 in his bid for the interim UFC bantamweight title. Song is coming a KO win over Marlon Moraes at UFC Vegas 50, which extended his current win streak to three fights, and lifted him to No. 10 in the UFC bantamweight rankings.

Sandhagen vs. Song Odds & Prediction

Cory Sandhagen has seen each of his two recent defeats come by decision. In addition, his recent losses mark the only fights of his pro career that have gone a full five rounds.

Song Yadong cracked the UFC Bantamweight ranking during his current three-fight win streak. He has finished opponents in each of his past two outings, ending a run of four straight fights that were decided by the judges.

Sandhagen vs Song Stats

14-4-0, (9) Pro MMA Record (finishes) 19-6-0, (11)
#4 UFC Bantamweight Ranking #10

Cory Sandhagen enjoyed an impressive up the bantamweight ranks after claiming victory in his first five UFC clashes. However, he has struggled to maintain a position among the 135-pound elite during his recent slide, which has included losses to Yan, TJ Dillashaw, and current champion Aljamain Sterling.

Despite his recent struggles, Sandhagen remains a serious knockout threat, which he demonstrated with a second-round TKO win over Marlon Moraes, and a sensational knockout of Frankie Edgar just 28 second into their UFC Vegas 18 matchup.

Sandhagen averages an impressive 6.42 significant strikes per minute. However, he struggles to defend against the takedown at times, and has been brought to the mat in all but two of his 10 UFC appearances.

Sandhagen vs Song Recent Fights

Sandhagen
VS
Song
Petr Yan (loss – unanimous decision) Fight 1 Marlon Moraes (win – KO)
TJ Dillashaw (loss – split decision) Fight 2 Julio Arce (win – TKO)
Frankie Edgar (win – KO) Fight 3 Casey Kenney (win – split decision)
Marlon Moraes (win – TKO) Fight 4 Kyler Phillips (loss – unanimous decision)
Aljamain Sterling (loss – submission) Fight 5 Marlon Vera (win – unanimous decision)

Song has shown increasing confidence in the octagon since joining the UFC five years ago. With wins in each of his past three outings, “The Kung Fu Monkey” now sports an 8-1-1 UFC record. More important is the dominance he showed in finishing Julio Arce and Marlon Moraes in his past two outings.

While happy to go the distance early in his career, Song has shown flashes of his impressive striking abilities in his two recent wins. However, he is equally adept at grappling, and has seen eight of his 19 career wins come by submission.

Faced with a three-inch reach deficit, those skills are likely to come in handy in Saturday night’s clash with Sandhagen.

Pick: Song by finish (+350)

Njokuani vs Rodrigues Odds & Pick

Chidi Njokuani vies for a fifth straight victory when he tangles with fellow middleweight Gregory Rodrigues. Njokuani has tallied impressive first-round KO wins over Duško Todorović and Marc-Andre Barriault in his past two outings, earning him back-to-back performance of the Night bonuses.

Overall, Njokuani has seen 14 of his 22 career wins come by KO or TKO, but has also seen five of his seven career losses come inside five minutes.

Njokuani vs Rodrigues Recent Fights

Njokuani
VS
Rodrigues
Dusko Todorovic (win – KO) Fight 1 Julain Marquez (win – KO)
Marc-Andre Barriault (win – KO) Fight 2 Armen Petrosyan (loss – split decision)
Mario Sousa (win – TKO) Fight 3 Jun Yong Park (win – KO)
Cristhian Torres (win – TKO) Fight 4 Dusko Todorovic (win – unanimous decision)
Rafael Carvalho (loss – unanimous decision) Fight 5 Josh Fremd (win – KO)

Gregory Rodrigues aims to build on his first-round KO win over Julian Marquez last time out at UFC Austin, which also earned him his second career performance bonus.

A submission specialist early in his career, Rodrigues has steadily evolved his striking game. That has paid dividends, with five of his six most recent victories coming by KO.

Pick: Njokuani (-129)

Other UFC Vegas 60 Picks

  • Marc-Andre Barriault (+138): Barriault needed just 2:36 to submit Jordan Wright while fighting at 190 pounds last time out, marking his third win in four outings.
  • Bill Algeo (-103): Algeo has rebounded from a shaky start to his UFC career with two straight wins, and is well positioned to spend three rounds simply wearing down a struggling Andre Fili.
  • Sara McCann (+112): look for McCann to eventually emerge as the winner in a clash with Aspen Ladd that will be primarily fought on the mat.
