Volkov vs Rozenstruik Odds, Prediction & Best Bet

Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik are in unique spots in the heavyweight division as both men have lost to the top guys so the loser of this fight will likely never fight for a UFC title and become a gatekeeper.

Volkov vs Rozenstruik Recent Fights

Volkov
VS
Rozenstruik
Tom Aspinall, loss by submission Fight 1 Curtis Blaydes, loss by decision
Marcin Tybura, win by decision Fight 2 Augusto Sakai, win by KO
Ciryl Gane, loss by decision Fight 3 Ciryl Gane, loss by decision
Alistair Overeem, win by TKO Fight 4 Junior dos Santos, win by TKO

Volkov is making a quick turnaround after losing by submission in the first round to Aspinall in the main event of UFC London back in March. As for Rozenstruik, he has not fought since UFC 266 in September of 2021 but has had two straight fights against Tybura fall out as the two were scheduled to fight at UFC Columbus in March and at UFC 273 in April.

Volkov vs Rozenstruik Stats

Volkov
VS
Rozenstruik
33 Age 34
6’7″ Height 6’2″
80″ Reach 78″
4 UFC  Finishes 6

This fight seems like it will end early by a knockout on either side or be a lackluster fight as both men have been overly patient in the past and just try to point fight their way to a win.

I do think Volkov is on the decline of his career as he hasn’t looked good in three straight fights and gassed badly against Tybura in a three-round fight. Aspinall as well was able to piece him up on the feet. Early on, both men will exchange leg kicks and jabs to try and figure each other’s range out but in the second round, Rozenstruik will begin to find his groove and start landing big shots that hurt Volkov and eventually put him out.

Rozenstruik has an insane amount of power and although Volkov has not been knocked out since Lewis did it with 11 seconds left in the fight, his chin seems to be going and Rozenstruik has finished every fight he’s won in the UFC and I expect the same here. Rozensturik at plus money is a solid bet but you can also look for the Rozenstruik by KO/TKO prop.

Pick: Jairzinho Rozenstruik (+130)

Ige vs Evloev UFC Vegas 56 Pick

In the co-main event of UFC Vegas 56, a fascinating featherweight fight takes place as Dan Ige – who has only lost to some of the best – takes on Movsar Evloev as Ige will be the toughest test of his career.

Ige & Evloev Recent Fights

Ige
VS
Evloev
Josh Emmett, loss by decision Fight 1 Hakeem Dawodu, win by decision
Korean Zombie, loss by decision Fight 2 Nik Lentz, win by split decision
Gavin Tucker, win by KO Fight 3 Mike Grundy, win by decision
Calvin Kattar, loss by decision Fight 4 Enrique Barzola, win by decision

Although Evloev is undefeated, in his last fight against Dawdou he lost the third round as he seemed to slow down quite a bit so his cardio is a concern heading into this fight. However, his wrestling is dominant and Ige only has a takedown defense of 55%.

Evloev should be able to win the first two rounds using his wrestling and coast in the third round as he did in his last fight to pick up another decision win.

Pick: Movsar Evloev (-400)

Other UFC Vegas 56 Picks:

  • Mike Trizano (-240): Trizano will be able to land the better shots on Almeida and mix in the wrestling to win a decision.
  • Karine Silva (-127): Silva should be able to get this fight to the ground and either get a submission win or just control Botelho to win a decision.
  • Alonzo Menifield (-167): Menifield has a ton of power and will land the KO shot in the first or second round to get back into the win column.
  • Felice Herrig (-125): Herrig should be able to piece up Kowalkiewicz on the feet to win a decision.
