There’s a lot to unpack, from KD vs MJ, to the new Lakers’ Big Three in a scoring showdown trying to best the 100-point game Wilt put on himself.
Like player equivalent matchups? You can wager on just how Zion in Year 3 stacks up to young Sir Charles, or how former Mavericks’ franchise face Dirk Nowitzki holds up against current franchise baby face Luka Doncic.
Can Steph shoot lights out vs Larry Legend, and does Dame explode in a quarter the way a limping Zeke did in the NBA Finals?

Now that we’ve got the formalities out of the way, let’s delve into these props and pick some winners.
Steph vs Larry
Let’s get you comfortable with a W, and there’s likely nothing more automatic on the board than this one. Larry Bird was arguably both the best pure shooter and big-game shot maker in his era, but the way the game has evolved, his numbers would run middle of the road in today’s shoot-em-if-you-got-em style of play.
Wow.. Steph Curry really has a 6 minute compilation of 40 foot three pointers 🔥 pic.twitter.com/oht7LLQAMc

Curry had a renaissance year after missing nearly all of the season prior with a broken hand. And he showed that his shooting stroke wasn’t just the same, but even more devastating than before.
Consider Curry matched Bird’s total of seven 3-point makes in a game six times. And 14 other times, he cruised past that figure. That is not a typo. In fact, seven games he cracked double-digit three-point makes.
Barring a catastrophic injury (knock on wood), Curry will deliver you a W.
LeBron vs Kobe
There are few certainties in life. Alongside death and taxes, it’s LeBron James scoring the hell out of the basketball.
Save for his rookie season way back in 2003, the King has never scored less than 25 points a game in a season. It’s so clockwork that league officials can pin it down to almost the week where he’s expected to pass Karl Malone for second on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
"And I want my damn respect, too."
On this day last year, @KingJames delivered this iconic line after winning his fourth @NBA title 👑 pic.twitter.com/qOf8am4Nc3

Not including Year 1, LeBron’s lowest scoring output in terms of average (25.0) and total output (1,126 points) was last year, in a COVID-shortened, injury plagued year. It also happens to be the second time in three years he’s been slowed by injuries in his LA tenure.
Still, as Father time prepares for a knockout blow, Year 19 doesn’t appear to be it. James looks physically as good as he always does, and he’s got a new challenge as the Lakers’ overhauled roster needs to be stabilized, at least until all the parts coalesce. And remember, he was an MVP favorite before his ankle injury.
He’ll never be Mamba, but can he take one of Kobe’s other nicknames? Vino is perfect.
