  • The NBA Playoffs continue on Thursday (April 21) with a three-game slate

There’s a trio of NBA playoff games to sweat on Thursday, but one injury is currently clouding the player props slate. Dallas’ Luka Doncic, who’s missed both Games 1 and 2 of the Mavericks vs Jazz series with a calf injury, is questionable to play in Game 3.

Until an official decision is made on his status Dallas player props remain off the board which is unfortunate, because Jalen Brunson has been a printing press for bettors early on this postseason.

Odds as of April 21st at DraftKings.

Golden State’s Steph Curry meanwhile, has played both of the Warriors first two playoff games despite dealing with a foot injury, but only limited minutes. He’s expected to play on Thursday versus the Nuggets, but oddsmakers are choosing to leave him off the player props board due to the uncertainty of how many minutes he’ll log.

Pick #1: Donovan Mitchell Over 29.5 Points

On the other side of the Mavericks situation is Utah’s Donovan Mitchell who’s been firing shots at will through two games. Mitchell has taken 59 shots through Games 1 and 2, racking up 34 and 32 point efforts.

His efficiency has been lacking, as he’s shooting only 39%, but don’t expect him to slow down in Game 3. For his career Mitchell averages four more shots in playoff games versus regular season outings, and over the previous two Jazz playoff runs he’s averaged 36 and 32 points a night.

Utah lacks a secondary option that can create their own shot to the degree that Mitchell can, and up until this point Dallas seems willing to let Mitchell try to beat them on his own. If the Jazz are going to approach their 108.5 point team total, Mitchell is going to need to produce another big night.

  • Pick: Donovan Mitchell Over 29.5 Points (-115)

Pick #2: Jaren Jackson Over 1.5 Threes

Our next target is over 1.5 threes for Memphis’ Jaren Jackson Jr. The Grizzlies and Timberwolves own the highest totaled game on the slate at 236.5 points, so there should be no volume concerns for Jackson Jr. barring foul trouble or injury.

Jackson is by no means an elite three-point shooter, but Minnesota appears to be willing to let him fire away. The 22-year-old has responded by taking 12 three’s so far this series, knocking down four attempts in their last meeting.

For his career Jackson averages five three-point attempts per outing, and no team yielded more points or made three’s than the Timberwolves during the regular season.

Pick: Jaren Jackson Jr. Over 1.5 Threes (-115)
