Tatum Continues to Thrive

The Celtics are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, much in part to the sheer brilliance of Jayson Tatum. He is truly playing like an MVP on both ends and at this rate, he’ll be in that mix for years to come. In 73 games this season, the former Duke standout is averaging 27.1 points, eight rebounds, and 4.3 assists per night. Lately, Tatum has been dominating as well.

YouTube video

Tatum posted 31 points on Friday night against the Pacers, hitting the over for the third time in his last five outings. The Boston offense relies heavily on the All-Star and he seldom disappoints, no matter the opponent. To strengthen his care here, the last time Tatum faced the Wizards, he erupted for 51 points. Yes, you heard that right. Washington is 25th in defensive rating, too.  Expect the 24-year-old to torch them once again. This bet holds tremendous value.

  • Pick: Jayson Tatum Over 29.5 Points (-120)

McCollum Does it All

One player who heavily benefited from a change of scenery at the trade deadline was CJ McCollum, who went from the Blazers to the Pelicans. As a primary ball-handler now after leaving Damian Lillard, the veteran guard is a completely different player in New Orleans, helping this team fight their way into a play-in spot. Since landing in the Big Easy, he’s posting averages of 26.2 points, 6.2 dimes, and 4.9 boards, all career-highs across the board. CJ is also shooting an impressive 39.5% from downtown.

YouTube video

McCollum has collected 20+ points in all but three of his 21 outings with the Pels and he went for 32 points and four assists on Friday as they completed the season sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers. On a rather consistent basis, the 30-year-old is scoring at a high level and getting his teammates involved. That’s why I like the points+assists here. he’s hit over 27.5 combined in six of his previous seven games. He’ll keep the hot streak going and hopefully, propel NOLA to a fourth straight win.

  • Pick: CJ McCollum Over 27.5 Points+Assists (-115)
