After a two-game road trip down in Texas, the Toronto Raptors (5-4, 3-1 home) return home to face the Chicago Bulls (5-5, 2-3 away) on Sunday evening at Scotiabank Arena. The tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM ET. This contest can be seen on Sportsnet in Canada and NBCS-Chicago in the US. Find the Bulls vs Raptors odds below.

The Bulls are coming off a nailbiting loss to Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics, despite DeMar DeRozan going off for a whopping 46 points. As for the Raps, they also fell by just one point to Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks as Pascal Siakam exited early with a groin injury.

Chicago got the best of Toronto last season, winning three of four meetings.

Bulls Could be Shorthanded

Billy Donovan’s squad is likely without Zach LaVine Sunday in the front end of a back-to-back. They’ve been playing it very cautiously with him after a knee procedure earlier this year and he’s also struggling lately. That means Ayo Dosunmu, Goran Dragic, and Alex Caruso will see an increased load. Big man Andre Drummond is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury, too.

Once again, it was DeRozan who kept the Bulls in Friday’s game against the Celtics. His 46 points came off a 13 for 23 clip from the field and he even drained 20 of his 20 free throws. Nikola Vucevic meanwhile continued his impressive campaign with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Chicago showed some fight against the 2022 NBA finalists but couldn’t stop them down low, getting outscored 52-34 in the paint. Their 17 turnovers didn’t help, either.

Toronto Also Dealing With Absences

The Raptors are looking at a potentially shorthanded rotation Sunday as well. Siakam is listed as doubtful after the groin injury. Fred VanVleet hasn’t played since last Friday because of back soreness and he’s questionable here. Khem Birch is in a similar boat. No Spicy P or VanVleet leaves the offensive burden on the shoulders of Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent, and OG Anunoby.

Anunoby was fantastic in the contest vs. Dallas, dropping a team-high 27 points as Toronto almost pulled off the comeback, just coming up short. Offensively, this was a very solid showing the entire group as six players dropped a minimum of 10 points. Everyone chipped in.

But, the Raps couldn’t slow down Luka Doncic, who had his way, scoring 35 points on an efficient 10 for 15 from the field. The third quarter proved to be a difference-maker for Nick Nurse’s team, getting outscored 34-24. LaVine or not, Sunday’s matchup will not be easy for Toronto without Siakam and likely VanVleet. They will need an all-around effort from the first and second unit to make up for a pair of huge absences.

Bulls vs Raptors Pick

This will be the battle of two depleted squads. Personally, I like the Bulls here. Their rotation won’t be as shorthanded and they’ve got a terrific track record against the Raps. Take Chicago on the spread.

Pick: Bulls +1.5 (-110)
