A fight between two teams in the top five in the Eastern Conference will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 10th, when the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers try to extend their winning streaks at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Ohio.

Going into the game, the Wizards are favorites to come away with a win on the road, entering as narrow three-point favorites over the Cavaliers.

Washington comes in having won two in a row. At 7-3, they’re tied for second place in the East. The Wizards took down the Milwaukee Bucks 101-94 Sunday to wrap up a three-game homestand.

Cleveland is fifth in the East, holding a record of 7-4 while riding a four-game win streak. The Cavaliers wrapped up a two-game road trip Sunday with a convincing 129-109 victory over the New York Knicks.

Injury Report

A a handful of players have already been ruled out for Wednesday.

The Wizards will be without Thomas Bryant (knee), Davis Bertans (ankle), Rui Hachimura (not with team), Isaiah Todd (G League), Joel Ayayi (G League) and Cassius Winston (G League).

On the other side, the Cavaliers will be without Kevin Love and Lauri Markkanen (health and safety protocols) and Collin Sexton (knee), with Isaac Okoro (hamstring) listed as questionable.

Can Cavaliers Stay Hot?

Cleveland opens a four-game homestand as one of the hottest teams in the NBA, seeking their fifth straight win.

Their defensive splits in wins and losses are telling. In their seven victories, Cleveland has given up 97.9 points per game on 41.2% shooting. In four losses, they have allowed 117.3 points on 51.7% shooting.

Keep an eye on how the Cavaliers perform defensively throughout the game.

The trio of Darius Garland, Ricky Rubio and Jarrett Allen have been playing well to lead Cleveland’s recent surge. Garland is averaging 15.4 points and 7.6 assists, Allen is averaging 14.9 points and 11.6 rebounds and Rubio — coming off a career night against New York on Sunday — is averaging 13.7 points, 6.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds.

Will Wizards Win on Road?

Washington has been a stellar 5-1 at home, but just 2-2 on the road, though they are seeking their third straight road win to pull above that .500 mark.

Where Cleveland’s defense dictates their results, Washington’s offensive output is a key for their performance. The Wizards are averaging 114.6 points while shooting 48.1% from the field and 36.3% percent from three in their wins. In three losses, they have averaged 100.3 points while shooting 41.7& from the field and 27.2% from deep.

Bradley Beal has continued his dominance this season, averaging a team-best 24.2 points, 5.4 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals to lead Washington.

Beal has oftentimes set the tone, along with Montrezl Harrell and Spencer Dinwiddie, which will be needed for the Wizards once again on the road.

Prediction and Best Bet

It’s still early in the regular season, but this is a nice matchup between surprising upstarts.

By the end of the night, Beal and the Wizards will be too much for the Cavaliers to handle, with Washington continuing their road winning streak while ending Cleveland’s four-game win streak.

For the best bet of the night, go with Washington and the 3-point spread currently placed on the game. This game will come down to the wire, but the Wizards will likely pull out the win by more than three points.

  • The Pick: Washington -3 (-112)
