Cavaliers Betting Analysis

The Cavaliers come into this matchup with a 46-30 record, sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland has won three of their last five games, including a 129-113 road victory over the Utah Jazz in their most recent contest. Caris LeVert led the way with five assists and 26 points.

The Cavs pulled out the victory despite missing their leading scorer, Donavan Mitchell, due to a left knee injury. On the season, Mitchell is averaging a team-high 26.8 points per game. The 27-year-old is reportedly available for tonight’s game and expected to play.

Cleveland’s strength is their defense, allowing just 109.3 points per game which ranks fifth best in the NBA. Center Jarrett Allen anchors the defense, averaging 10.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Allen also leads the team in field goal percentage at 63.1%.

To beat the Suns, Cleveland will need to control the pace and pound the ball inside to Allen and Mobley. The Cavs are 11th in the league in rebounding at 44.0 per game. Darius Garland (18.0 ppg, 6.5 apg) will need to facilitate and create open looks for the Cavs’ shooters.

One area of concern for Cleveland is the status of Caris LeVert who is dealing with a wrist injury. LeVert is a key scorer off the bench, averaging 12.6 points. He’s expected to play Wednesday, however, after his shooting stroke showed no ill effects last game.

Suns Betting Analysis

The Suns sit at 44-31 on the season which puts them in fourth place in the Western Conference. Phoenix has alternated wins and losses in their last four games, defeating New Orleans 124-11 last time out. Devin Booker put up a career-high 52 points in the victory.

Booker and Kevin Durant form one of the most lethal tandems in the NBA. In 57 games, Durant leads the Suns in scoring (28.3 ppg) and blocks (1.3 ppg) while also contributing 6.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per night. Booker is an elite scorer in his own right, averaging 27.5 points and 6.8 assists

The Suns are an excellent shooting team, ranking 4th in field goal percentage (49.6%) and 3rd in free throw percentage (80.3%). Phoenix is also 8th in rebounding (44.3 rpg) led by center Jusuf Nurkic’s 11.0 per game. Bradley Beal is still the maestro of the Suns’ offense, dishing out 5.1 assists per game

For Phoenix to avenge their recent loss to the Cavs, they will need a more balanced scoring attack beyond just Durant and Booker. The Suns could also look to push the pace and get out in transition against the slower-paced Cavaliers.

The NBA player props for Tuesday show Devin Booker with the highest projected point total, 26.5. Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell also have point totals above 20, while Jarrett Allen sports the highest rebound projection (10.5).

Here are a couple of the player props we’ve locked in for tonight’s game:

Devin Booker Points + Rebounds + Assists Over 40.5
Booker has eclipsed 40.5 PRA in 4 of his last 5 games. His points, rebounds and assists averages vs Cleveland would combine for 43.7 PRA.

Evan Mobley  Over 14.5 Points
Mobley is averaging 15.8 ppg this year. He had 21 points on 7/11 shooting vs the Jazz on Tuesday.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Phoenix Suns Prediction

We’re expecting plenty of scoring in this NBA matchup, as the Cavs have cashed the “over” in six straight contests and the Suns have gone over the posted number in four of their past six affairs. Phoenix is a top-10 offensive team, while Cleveland has been averaging nearly 115 points per game in their last five outings.

Given how well these two squads have been shooting lately, our best bet is the over of 226.5 points. This total has climbed from its opening number of 225.5, indicating sharp money. Some sportsbooks now have it as high as 227, but you can still find 226.5 if you shop around.

CLE vs PHO Pick:

  • Over 226.5 Points (-110)
