Atlanta Hawks Betting Trends

The Southeast Division-leading Hawks are the epitome of a middle of the road club. Atlanta sits among the NBA’s middle third in points per game (13th), assists per game (10th) and points allowed per game (17th). However, the Hawks are 23rd in rebounds per game.

Averaging 116 PPG for and 116.9 PPGA against, Atlanta is the only Eastern Conference team with a winning record but a negative plus/minus rating.

The Hawks go as guard Trae Young goes. He’s leading the team with 29.0 PPG and 9.7 APG, but was limited to 14 points in the loss to Toronto. John Collins (9.9 rebounds per game) is Atlanta’s top board man.

In losing to the Raptors, Atlanta was careless with the basketball. The Hawks committed a season-high 18 turnovers, leading to 24 Raptors points.

New York Knicks Betting Trends

The Knicks are like night and day when it comes to playing on the road, or at Madison Square Garden. Along with being unbeaten on their home court, New York is scoring 126.3 points per game.

Taking their show on the road, the output of the Knicks score the basketball at a rate of 109.3 points per game. They are 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS as an away team this season. In the loss to the Cavaliers, Cleveland guard Donovan Mitchell scored a game-high 38 points.

While the Utah Jazz were shopping there-time all-star Mitchell last summer, he looked to be on his way to the Knicks when Cleveland swooped in at the last minute with a better offer. New York led 93-84 going into the fourth quarter, but was outscored 37-15 in the final period. The Knicks allowed Cleveland to drop in a franchise-record 23 3-pointers.

Forward/center Julius Randle is pacing the Knicks with 19.8 PPG and 9.4 RPG. Jalen Brunson is dishing out a team-best 7.2 APG. The Knicks are second in the NBA in PPG and sixth in RPG.

Hawks vs Knicks Prediction

The Knicks are a mediocre 13-15 ATS as a home favorite over the past two seasons. However, Atlanta is an NBA-worst 7-22 (24.1%) as a road underdog over the same time frame.

The Hawks are 0-2 SU as an underdog this season. New York is 3-0 SU as a favorite. Atlanta is concluding a five-game road trip with this game.

Both the Hawks (5-2, 71.4%) and Knicks (4-1-1, 80%) are among the NBA’s better teams at hitting the over this season. New York’s 10.4 total plus/minus is third-best in the league. Atlanta has scored 100 or more points in 28 consecutive games.

Among common opponents, the Knicks (1-0) and Hawks (2-0) are both showing unbeaten marks against Detroit. Each team is 0-1 facing Milwaukee. But while New York beat Charlotte, the Hawks lost to the Hornets.

Pick: New York Knicks -2 (-110)
