New York Betting Analysis

There were definitely bigger names on the move at the trade deadline, but the Knicks’ pickup of Josh Hart was absolutely perfect for them.

New York has gone 7-0 since the Hart pickup, and he’s contributed in about every category, averaging 12.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals.

His do-all game has unlocked New York’s stars, as Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle have been on fire, just as they were last time out in a 142-118 thumping of the Brooklyn Nets. Brunson poured in 30 points in the first half, part of his game-high 39. with five boards and six dimes.

Randle dropped 21 of his own, to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists. Quentin Grimes went for 22, on a team-high 6-for-9 effort from downtown. New York drilled 20-for-35 from deep, a 57.1% clip.

They usually shoot it at 35.1%, 22nd in the NBA. New York’s defense has been stout too, with the 7th-best scoring defense in the league. allowing 112 points per game.

Miami Betting Analysis

Perhaps more concerning than the 119-96 home evisceration Miami took at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers (who were without Joel Embiid) was Jimmy Butler leaving in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. He’s questionable for Friday.

Backcourt mate Kyle Lowry will miss his 11th straight game as he deals with a knee injury.

Bam Adebayo led the team in scoring with 20 points and eight rebounds. He was the only Heat player to crack the 20-point plateau.

The Heat are the league’s lowest scoring unit, putting up just 107.8 points per game. They haven’t crossed 108 points in their last eight games. They’re also bottom-5 in field goal and three-point shooting, and rebounding.

Thankfully they bring one of the NBA’s top scoring defenses to the table, allowing just 108.6 points per game (2nd). They’re also third in forced turnovers, and first in fewest paint points allowed.

Knicks vs Heat Betting Prediction

A great game-within-the-game matchup, as the Heat are tied for the fewest 2nd-chance points allowed. That’s a major source of income for the Knicks, who lead the league in that category.

This is the second of four meetings between these teams, with New York winning 106-104 on Feb 2, as Tyler Herro’s 3-point heave at the buzzer wouldn’t go down.

New York is 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven, but it’s just hard to ever get a read on this Heat team, who have stats that look like they could be a lottery team.

Let’s go with the total: New York is putting up 123.7 points a game during their win streak, shooting 50.6% from the field and 40.6% from three, while Miami is surrendering 113.7 during this slide. If the Heat are going to win, they’re going to have to be able to up points.
