The Indiana Pacers failed miserably in their first attempt to eliminate the New York Knicks.

Saturday will present their best chance to close out the Eastern Conference Finals and move on to the NBA Finals, where the OKC Thunder await.

New York, trying to become just the 14th team in NBA Playoff history to come back from a 3-1 series deficit, are 3.5-point road ‘dogs in the NBA odds.

Game 6 tips off Saturday night at 8pm ET from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with TNT carrying the broadcast.

NY Knicks vs IND Pacers Picks

  • Knicks vs Pacers pick: Over 219 points (-110)

In their biggest game of the season, the Indiana Pacers turned in their worst effort of the playoffs in a 111-94 loss that never really was close after New York’s early punch to take the lead.

It’s the first time in the postseason that Indiana has scored under 100 points, and it was their second-largest margin of defeat in these playoffs.

Getting back home will help, but so will a better effort from Tyrese Haliburton. After an historic triple double propelling the Pacers to a 3-1 series lead, he was a no-show at MSG, going 2-for-7 from the field for eight points an six assists.

Conversely, Jalen Brunson turned in his fourth 30+ point performance of this series, shooting 12-for-18 from the field, including a sharp 5-for-7 from distance, while adding five rebounds and five assists.

Any doubts about Karl-Anthony Towns and his availability due to a knee contusion were washed away after he went for 24 points and 13 rebounds.

He was part of the relentless attack of the paint, where the Knicks nearly doubled Indy in paint scoring 60-34.

This is going to be a tough bet no matter which way you lean, because the swings have been so wild.

New York has failed to cover the spread in four straight games following a win — but there’s more weight on Game 6 than any other previous contest.

The Pacers have won eight straight games following a loss, but there’s never been more pressure to close it out Saturday, as a return trip to New York for Game 7 would be absolutely bonkers.

I think what we can agree on is this should be the best punch either side throws, similar to the high-stakes Game 4 matchup, where the teams breezed Over the total.

Four of the Pacers’ last five home games against the Knicks have cashed the Over, and that’s where we lean Saturday.

The Knicks are built on the scoring of Jalen Brunson, but Karl-Anthony Towns is arguably the most important player for New York.

His consistent work inside is what keeps the Pacers off balance, as there’s no one that can contain him, and the numbers bare that out: KAT has scored 20+ points in each of his last 10 appearances against the Pacers. Look for another big game from the big man.

If you’re looking for a Pacers’ prop, I think Haliburton delivers in a big way, across multiple stat boxes. In the two highest scoring games of this series, he’s topped his 3.5 3-point make line.

This might be a wild scoring affair, and you’ll get good plus odds on him hitting four moneyballs.
