  • The Los Angeles Clippers are 6.5-point home favorites over the Orlando Magic in their NBA game scheduled for Saturday, March 18

When it comes to which team is holding the advantage when the Orlando Magic (28-42, 37-32-1 ATS) and Los Angeles Clippers meet (37-33, 35-35 ATS), it all depends on how wide-ranging the search is going to be.

This season, Orlando has won the only meeting. The Magic took a 116-111 home-court overtime decision on Dec. 7. In fact, Orlando is 2-2 straight up in the past four games between the two teams.

However, the Clippers are showing a 16-2 SU advantage over the past 18 games against the Magic. On home court, LA is 8-1 SU in the past nine meetings with Orlando.

Magic vs Clippers Betting Trends

The people are displaying mixed emotions when it comes to the public spread splits on this game. The Magic are pulling in an enormous 86% of handle. Bettors are tipping slightly to the Clippers at 51%. When it comes to the money lines splits, though, it’s all Clippers. LA is drawing 77% of handle and 89% of bets.

Total players are also of two minds. The public splits on the over/under are showing 75% of handle on the under, while 59% of bettors are backing the over. Orlando has gone over in six straight games. However, eight of the last 12 games between these two clubs went under.

Orlando vs LA Clippers Injury Report

Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard (right knee injury management) won’t be playing Saturday against the Magic. LA will be also missing small forward Norman Powell (shoulder) from the NBA starting lineups. As well, shooting guard Brandon Boston Jr (tailbone contusion) is out.

Magic SG Jalen Suggs is out with a concussion. Power forward Jonathan Isaac is done for the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn left adductor muscle.

LA Carrying Hot Hand at Home

The Clippers will be seeking to extend their home winning streak to five games. However, prior to this current four-game unbeaten run, LA was treading water at home with a 15-15 SU slate. Overall, the Clippers are just 5-5 SU over the past 10 games.

Point guard Russell Westbrook is shooting 42.5% and averaging 15.6 points for the Clippers in nine games since arriving in a trade from the crosstown Lakers. Leonard is averaging 26.3 points in his last 10 games. He tallied 30 in Wednesday’s win over Golden State. In his absence, expect more work for Westbrook and Paul George.

Magic Struggle on Road

Leading the team in scoring with 20.1 per-game average, rookie power forward Paolo Banchero was the hero for the Magic in their December victory over the Clippers. He led all scorers that night with 23 points. Banchero has been good for 22.2 ppg over Orlando’s past 10 games.

Small forward Franz Wagner (18.7 ppg) and center Wendell Carter Jr (15.3) are the only other Magic players scoring more than 15 points per game. Playing the third game of a four-game road trip, the Magic are 12-23 SU on the road this season. They’re also 16-25 SU against teams with above-.500 records.

Magic vs Clippers Prediction

You have to go all the way back to 2011 to find a stretch in which Orlando won back-to-back games against the Clippers. The Magic actually won nine in a row from LA from 2007-11.

Orlando is just 3-7 SU over the past 10 games and 1-5 SU through the last six. They’re also 0-4 ATS in their last four road games as an underdog of 6.5+ points.

Pick: Los Angeles Clippers -6.5 (-110)
