Odds as of Mar 29 at FanDuel Sportsbook

Joel Embiid, favorite in NBA MVP odds, has the highest points line on Tuesday night at 30.5. Embiid is just ahead of fellow MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo who shares 29.5 with Luka Doncic.

Cunningham Continues to Flourish

Brooklyn is 25th in defense over their last 16 games. They gave up 119 to Charlotte and 132 to the Grizzlies in two of their last three. While the Nets are obviously heavy favorites here, that doesn’t mean the Pistons are necessarily going to struggle to score.

Cade Cunningham has been sensational over the last few weeks. This is also a matchup he should enjoy given the Nets’ small perimeter rotation and tendency to give up three-point shots — Cunningham should be able to pick out plenty of open teammates.

The 2021 first overall pick has been robbed of a lot of dimes this season due to Detroit’s poor shooting. His playmaking ability should not be downplayed, though, and his 12.1 potential assists average since All-Star ranks above Jrue Holiday, D’Angelo Russell and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Cunningham has passed this points and assists line in six of his last nine. Against a weak Nets defense, he should be able to put up numbers again on Tuesday night even if it’s in a losing effort. Take the over here .

  • Pick: Cade Cunningham over 27.5 points and assists (-106)

Doncic Dominates Woeful Lakers

Luka Doncic is facing a terrible Lakers team. Los Angeles owns the fourth-worst defense since the All-Star break, and their effort level seems to decline by the game. They are 27th in assists given up on the season, and they could be without LeBron James after he rolled his ankle last time out.

Doncic’s assists line is set at 8.5, a mark he has passed in just seven of his last 13. His playmaking burden has been eased slightly by the arrival of Spencer Dinwiddie, but the Slovenian is still putting up gaudy numbers on a nightly basis. He just dropped 32, 10 and nine on the Jazz, following a 24-point triple-double against the Timberwolves.

Clocking 16.5 potential assists since the break, Doncic ranks seventh in that league in that category. Whether picking out teammates with smart interior passes for lay ups or kicking out to shooters, Doncic stretches defenses like few other players can. This Lakers team is lackluster on defense against far less accomplished offensive teams — they are going to be all at sea trying to cope with Doncic.

You can talk yourself into any Doncic market here. He will revel in being able to deliver another loss for the Lakers, they have no way of slowing him down. This over is too good to turn down at plus odds.

  • Luka Doncic over 8.5 assists (+110)
