  • Six NBA games are scheduled for Tuesday night
  • Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving take the court for Brooklyn in Charlotte
  • Read below for the latest NBA player props and best bets

There are six NBA games on Tuesday, March 8th. Three games tip off at 7:10pm ET, with the Chris Paul-less Phoenix Suns on the road against the tanking Orlando Magic. Orlando is hefty underdogs.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving lead the Brooklyn Nets against the Charlotte Hornets. Brooklyn is favored by 3.5 as it looks to go on a late-season run and, at the very least, secure a place in the top half of the Play-In Tournament.

Jarrett Allen has been ruled out indefinitely, though the Cavs are still fancied to get a win against the lowly Pacers. Then the red-hot Pelicans take on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies.

The defending champion Milwaukee Bucks get underway at 8:10pm ET against the Thunder. The night is rounded out with the Golden State Warriors hosting the Los Angeles Clippers in San Francisco.

Odds as of Mar 08 at FanDuel Sportsbook

Kevin Durant and Ja Morant are tied for the highest points line on Tuesday night at 29.5. Former first overall pick Deandre Ayton and Rookie of the Year odds frontrunner Evan Mobley lead the way at 10.5 boards apiece.

Garland Picks Apart Pacers Defense

The Indiana Pacers are 27th in defense over the last 10 games. They have conceded 107 points or more in each of their last 11. Cleveland might have only scored 98 when the teams last met, but that was a game Garland missed, and it’s no secret the Cavs are a much less dangerous offensive team without their All-Star guard.

Cleveland’s offense is 6.6 points better per 100 possessions with Garland on the floor. His scoring ability was already evident, but he’s combined it with game management this season. Only five players average more assists on the season, and he’s clocked nine or more assists in nine of his last 16 games, including 29 dimes over his last two.

The injury to Jarrett Allen takes away one easy path to assists for Garland, yet he’s an accomplished enough playmaker to create in all sorts of ways. Evan Mobley can provide a similar rim-running presence, and Garland will pick out Kevin Love for open shots at will against this subpar Pacers defense.

This is a night where the Cavs offense should thrive. Garland will, once again, be at the center of that. Take the over.

  • Pick: Darius Garland over 8.5 assists (-124)

LaMelo Ball Does it All vs Brooklyn

Charlotte faces a Nets team which is one of the worst defenses in the league and ranks around average in rebounding across the last 10. Brooklyn is small on the perimeter. They are often running lineups with two or three below average defensive players.

This all points towards a big night from LaMelo Ball. His points, rebounds and assists line is set at 32.5, a mark he’s passed in five of his last nine (if we exclude the eight-minute outing against the Cavs). Ball is 11th in assists for the season – ahead of Russell Westbrook and D’Angelo Russell. He’s an exceptional rebounder for his position, averaging 6.9 boards per contest.

His scoring can come and go. Ball could go off for 25+ on Tuesday night, but even if he’s held under 20 points, he contributes in enough other ways that he should still pass this line. After all, the former third overall pick averages 14.2 combined rebounds and assists per game this season.

This should be a fun game between two entertaining offenses fighting to be above the fray of the Play-In Tournament in the NBA Playoffs Bracket. It’s the sort of stage where Ball can put on a show  – we’re expecting a big night from the reigning Rookie of the Year.

  • Pick: LaMelo Ball over 32.5 points, rebounds and assists (-111)
