The Golden State Warriors host the Dallas Mavericks for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on May 20th. Favored by six points at Chase Center, the Dubs are looking to defend homecourt before the series swings to Texas for Game 3 at the weekend. Luka Doncic had one of his worst playoff performances in the series opener, but the Slovenian star will be looking to bounce back in Game 2.

Adjustments are going to play a big part in this series – all eyes will be on Jason Kidd after his team was emphatically outplayed a couple of days ago. Steve Kerr mixed up his defense throughout, enjoying great success by doing so.

Bullocks Makes 3+ Threes

Dallas was actually neck and neck with Golden State by Shot Quality in Game 1. Open shots were missed throughout. Reggie Bullock made three of his 10 three-point attempts, but it could have been an even more productive night for the former Knick. Frequently left open on the perimeter, Bullock has a big role to play in the Mavericks’ offense as well as working tirelessly on the defensive end.

The quantity is going to be there. He averages the second-most minutes per game of players remaining in this postseason. Only five remaining players are taking more three-point shots per game, and Bullock has been making 38% of them, which is in line with his career average.

Golden State wasn’t overhelping on Doncic on Wednesday, but they were making sure he saw multiple bodies. Doncic had 15 potential assists as a result of his passing exploits, several of which were to Bullock. There’s no reason for the Dubs to change their defense drastically – Bullock could reach double figures in three-point attempts again.

It’s reasonable to simply expect Dallas to shoot it better in Game 2. Bullock wasn’t as ice-cold as Maxi Kleber, Davis Bertans or Dorian Finney-Smith, and we know that his minutes will be very high. At plus odds, this is a good value over.

  • Pick: Reggie Bullock over 2.5 threes (+114)

Wiggins Delivers Again

Andrew Wiggins received plenty of plaudits for his Game 1 performance, and rightly so. The former first overall pick has enjoyed a stellar postseason, playing great defense and providing a bit of punch on offense when required. He scored 19 in Game 1, following an 18 and 11 in Game 6 against the Grizzlies.

Dallas was aggressive in their defense of Steph Curry, opening up space for others. They often helped off of Wiggins, leading to eight three-point attempts, many of which were uncontested. He had 17 shots altogether, along with five rebounds. That made it three of four games that Wiggins has passed his 22.5 points and rebounds line — stretch back further, and it’s five of the last seven.

There’s an element of unpredictability with Wiggins on any given night, which can be off-putting when it comes to his props. Aside from the blowout to Memphis, though, he has been consistent this postseason, scoring between 16 and 19 in six of the last seven games. His rebounding has been important to the Warriors when they’ve gone small, and he’s earned plenty of extra possessions with aggressiveness on the offensive glass.

Wiggins has regularly gone over 35 minutes in these playoffs. He’s hit this over more often than not.

  • Pick: Andrew Wiggins over 22.5 points and rebounds (-115)
