After holding serve at home in Games 1 and 2, the New York Knicks (56-34, 25-19 away, 49-38-3 ATS) can take a 3-0 in their best-of-seven second-round series with the Indiana Pacers (51-39, 29-15 home, 48-39-3 ATS) in Game 3 on Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (7:10 pm ET).

But New York won’t be at full strength in Game 3 and oddsmakers have listed Indiana as a sizable seven-point favorite in the Knicks vs Pacers odds.

Team Spread Moneyline Total
New York Knicks +7 (-105) +235 O 222.5 (-110)

The game total has increased from 220.5 in Game 2 to 222.5 in Game 3. Both games in the series so far went over the total, averaging a regular-season-like 244.5 points per game.

The NBA public betting splits for Game 3 show the Knicks getting 59% of ATS handle as seven-point underdogs and 57% of moneyline handle as +235 road ‘dogs. The public also loves the under, putting 96% of game-total handle on under 222.5.

The Knicks’ odds to advance in the NBA playoff bracket currently sit at -320 which is, ironically, longer than they were ahead of Game 2 (-360). Oddsmakers are obviously leary of New York’s injury concerns.

Knicks/Pacers Game 3 Injury Reports

The Knicks got a huge scare in Game 2 when Jalen Brunson (35.6 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 8.1 APG in postseason) left with a sore foot late in the first quarter. But Brunson returned at the start of the second half and spurred a ten-point comeback with 24 second-half points.

New York’s Game 3 injury report officially lists Brunson as questionable, but the man himself said he was “all good”.

The same can’t be said for OG Anunoby (16.4 PPG, 6.8 RPG), who will miss Game 3 with a hamstring injury.

The Knicks were already without Mitchell Robinson (ankle), Bojan Bogdanovic (foot/wrist), and Julius Randle (shoulder).

On the Indiana side, Tyrese Haliburton (17.0 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 9.1 APG in postseason) is questionable with a back issue. He was also listed as questionable for Games 1 and 2 but looked to be at full speed on Wednesday, scoring a game-high 34 points with nine assists and six rebounds.

Despite the foot injury, Brunson’s point total remains at 35.5, same as Game 2. He finished with 29 points on Wednesday night despite playing just 32 minutes.

Haliburton’s point total increased from 17.5 to 19.5 after his 34-point outburst, his highest of the playoffs so far.

Josh Hart, who collected 15 rebounds in Game 1 and 13 in Game 2 and is averaging an NBA-best 12.8 RPG in the playoffs, once again has the highest rebound total at 12.5 with the over significantly favored at -135.

Knicks vs Pacers Game 3 Prediction

This is a massive spread for the Pacers to cover against New York’s slow-paced, elite defense. New York won the first two games while playing into Indiana’s run-and-gun style, but don’t expect the same game plan from Tom Thibodeau in Game 3.

If Brunson is actually “all good”, New York is great value as a seven-point underdog.

NYK vs IND Game 3 picks:

  • Knicks +7 (-105)
  • Turner over 16.5 points (-130)
