The books are expecting a Knicks bounce back, tagging New York as 6-point favorite in the NBA odds.

Game 2 tips off Friday night at 8pm ET from Madison Square Garden in New York, with TNT carrying the broadcast.

IND Pacers vs NY Knicks Picks

  • Pacers vs Knicks pick: Over 226 points (-110)

The Knicks did everything right except land the plane in Game 1. They held a 14-point lead with less than three minutes to play before chaos took over.

Basketball fans witnessed some of the craziest events never seen before in playoff hoops, including Aaron Nesmith hitting a record six triples in the fourth quarter, and Tyrese Haliburton’s buzzer-beating jumper and bounced off the back iron straight up into the air, and back down.

That brought out the retro Reggie Miller choke sign, only to be spoiled by his foot on the three-point line, keeping it tied instead of a game winner. Indiana still went on to take it 138-135 in overtime.

The game wiped out a monster effort from Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, who combined to score 78 points on a steller 26-for-42 shooting (61.9%), only to come up empty.

Indiana plays with the second fastest pace in the playoffs, and their shot making, combined with their ability to force turnovers and score on the break — they are second with 14.1 points per game — has forced the Knicks into their style of play.

New York proved it could hang with the deeper Pacers’ side. New York has the more star-studded roster, but Tom Thibodeau trusts about seven players in his rotation.

At some point, though, the Knicks will have to get some stops if they want to even up this series. The Pacers shot 51% from the field, including a blistering 15-for-37 from downtown, a lethal 40.5% clip.

Indiana leads the playoffs in scoring, field goal shooting and 3-point shooting. I’m not sure New York recovers to take Game 2, but I do believe there will be a lot of points scored.

These teams have gone Over the total in five of the last six head-to-head matchups, while the Pacers have seen the Over cash in six of their last eight games.

While it took late into Game 1 for Andrew Nembhard to cash his Over 3-point shooting prop of 1.5, I’m still sort of surprised the books have him at plus odds to connect on a pair again.

He’s connected on at least two triples in seven of his last 10 playoff games, and is quietly stroking the moneyball at an incredible 51.1% clip.

Nembhard isn’t the setup and go-to- guy like backcourt mate Tyrese Haliburton, nor is he like fiery wing defender Aaron Nesmith. He’s just a steady contributor on both ends of the court that makes the most of his opportunities.

I’ll keep wagering this until the books figure out this is great value.

  • Pacers vs Knicks player prop bet: Nembhard Over 1.5 three-point makes (+140)
