It’s do or die for the New York Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Down 3-1 to the Indiana Pacers, they will try to become just the 14th team in NBA Playoff history to come back from a 3-1 series deficit.

The books do like the Knicks to bounce back, tagging New York as 4-point favorite in the NBA odds.

Game 5 tips off Thursdasy night at 8pm ET from Madison Square Garden in New York, with TNT carrying the broadcast.

IND Pacers vs NY Knicks Picks

  • Pacers vs Knicks pick: Knicks -4 (-112)

This has been a tightly contested series throughout, but once again, the Pacers found a way to win Game 4, a thrilling 130-121 win at home, giving them three shots at winning one game, and a trip the NBA Finals.

The Pacers have been able to win the close ones by their work on the margins. In Game 4, they got the running game going, outscoring the Knicks 22-9 in fast break points. They also turned New York over 17 times, which they converted into 20 points.

New York now has 60 turnovers in four games in the East Finals.

While the Knicks were +11 in the rebound battle, Indiana was +6 in paint scoring.

New York also doesn’t know how effective big man Karl-Anthony Towns can be in Game 5, after a late-game knee-to-knee collision with Aaron Nesmith had him writhing on the ground in pain.

KAT stayed in the game, but was visibly hobbled. He’s listed as questionable Thursday night.

If he can’t go or is ineffective, New York is going to have to find some additional scoring behind Jalen Brunson, who should likely be pencilled in for 30 points in a must win.

More importantly, though, they’ll need to find a way to get Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton out of rhythm. The Pacers’ star is the first and only player in NBA Playoff history to record a 30-point, 15-assist, 10-rebound game with zero turnovers.

Haliburton led the Pacers to a tremendous shooting night, as the team shot 51.1% from the field, 40.6% from 3-point range and 84.4% from the stripe on 32 attempts.

New York is just 3-5 at home in the playoffs and 3-5-0 against the spread, but only one of those games was a blowout loss, and they’ve come down to the wire both times at MSG in this series.

A lot of crazy stuff has already happened through four games. I don’t think it ends with a whimper. Even if Indiana does close, I feel like this comes down to the wire, enough for New York to cover for your betting win.

I’m actually stunned the books have Pacers’ guard Andrew Nembhard with steep plus odds to cross his 1.5 make line from 3-point range on Thursday.

Yes, he’s hit just one triple over the last two games, going 1-for-5 from distance at home, but he’s been a quiet assassin from deep on the road.

Nembhard has hit at least two 3-pointers in three straight road games and in five of seven away games in these playoffs.

He’s connected on 16 of 30 attempts, a 53.3% clip. I’ll happily sprinkle a wager on that again.

  • Pacers vs Knicks player prop bet: Nembhard Over 1.5 three-point makes (+170)
