Draymond the Facilitator

Since Draymond Green has returned to the Warriors lineup after missing the first couple of games of the season, he hasn’t been the most impactful from a scoring standpoint. Green is averaging just under nine points per game throughout his career, but through eight contests, the vet is dropping just four points a game.

Despite his lack of production at the hoop, Draymond is serving as Golden State’s best playmaker. He’s collecting 6.6 assists per contest, consistently finding looks for his teammates. Aside from his rebounding abilities and lockdown defense, Green is a very talented passer. He always has been, but it seems like this season that it’s more of a priority in his game.

With limited scorers around him to feed other than Curry and sometimes, Andrew Wiggins, Green has even taken upon himself to direct other Golden State players to make the right cuts and moves on the court:

Green has 27 dimes across his last three games. Although the Lakers have won five straight and will be feeling extremely confident about another victory on Monday, that doesn’t mean the Warriors best facilitator can’t dish out some nifty assists against LeBron and AD.

Since he’s struggling immensely in the scoring department, Green will continue to put an emphasis on passing. Putting your money on the over here is safe.

Pick: Over 6.5 Assists (-124)

Steph Gets Hot From Downtown

Curry has enjoyed some big performances this season despite his team’s streaky play. He’s dropped 30 or more points on six occasions, including a 62 point game against Portland, where the sharpshooter erupted for eight three-pointers.

We all know that Steph played his part in transforming the NBA into a shooter-friendly league thanks to his ability to drain buckets from downtown. Although he’s shooting just 37.5 percent right now, there’s been several occasions where Curry has gone off. He drained nine three’s last week against the Clippers, then also had five more in a loss to Denver on Thursday.

In a game where he’ll need to step up to have any chance at a victory, expect the Warriors star to rise to the occasion in his most comfortable area on the court. But, opponents have shot just over 30 percent from downtown against the Lakers in their last four games.

As a team, Golden State doesn’t shoot it that well either with just a 35.2 percent clip from three-point range.

Nevertheless, I expect Curry to get hot in this one. With an LA lineup consisting of several impact players on the glass like Anthony Davis and Montrezl Harrell, expect Golden State’s best player to take his chances from the perimeter. I firmly believe he will hit the over.

Pick: Over 4.5 Three-Pointers (+100)
