Alabama Betting Outlook

Alabama has not been profitable to its backers this season. The Crimson Tide has lost 10 of its last 11 games against the spread and is 7-12 overall ATS, including 1-3 on the road.

Alabama failed to cover as 18-point favorites in the win over Missouri, though junior guard Jaden Shackelford had 21 points and seven rebounds. It was his second straight 20-point game and sixth of the season.

Shackelford leads Alabama in scoring at 16.9 points a game and is also averaging 5.8 rebounds.

He has played a big role in the Crimson Tide ranking 10th nationally in KenPom’s offensive efficiency by scoring 117.9 points per 100 possessions.

Freshman guard JD Davidson scored 17 points, an encouraging sign in what has been an up-and-down season. It was his second-highest point total after the 20 he scored in a win over Gonzaga on Dec. 4.

Just missing a double-double was junior guard Jahvon Quinerly, who finished with 13 points and nine assists. He is averaging 14.8 points and 4.3 assists.

Quinerly scored in double figures for the 11th time in the last 12 games.

A third Alabama player with a double-digit scoring average is senior guard Keon Ellis. He is scoring 12.0 points, grabbing 6.2 rebounds and making 2.0 steals a game.

Alabama was in danger of being a major upset victim Saturday as it trailed 63-49 with 13:57 left. However, the Crimson Tide eventually ran off 11 straight point to go ahead for good 79-73 with 2:53 remaining.

Senior forward James Rojas put Alabama ahead for good with a tip-in.

Alabama outrebounded Missouri 44-30. The Tigers did shoot 45.8% (11 of 24) on three-pointers, though.

Georgia Betting Outlook

Georgia also hasn’t been the bettors’ friend this season, going 5-13-1 ATS, including 3-8-1 in Athens. The SEC cellar-dwelling Bulldogs are also on a four-game ATS losing streak.

In Saturday’s loss to South Carolina, leading scorer Kairo Oquendo was held scoreless in 15 minutes on 0-for-5 shooting. The junior college transfer is averaging 12.6 points.

Senior forward Braelen Bridges continued to be a bright spot with 20 points and five rebounds. It was the second straight 20-point game for the Illinois-Chicago transfer and sixth time in the last seven games he reached double figures.

Bridges has averages of 12.5 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Junior guard Noah Baumann scored 14 points but was just 3 of 12 from three-point range. The transfer from USC has scored in double digits in seven of the last eight games after doing so just once in his first 10 games this season.

Freshman guard Christian Wright scored 10 points the hard way as he made 10 of 12 free throw attempts. It was the second straight game Wright scored in double figures after reaching that mark only once in the first 17 games.

Senior guard Aaron Cook is 13th in the nation with 6.1 assists a game after transferring from Gonzaga. However, the Gonzaga transfer had five of Georgia’s 18 turnovers Saturday.

In addition to the turnovers, Georgia shot 39.1% (18 of 46) and made 5 of 20 (25.0%) three-point shots. Nevertheless, the Bulldogs led 60-53 with 10:39 to go before South Carolina scored 24 straight points to seize control.

Georgia led 42-36 at halftime but scored just 24 points in the second half.

Alabama vs Georgia Prediction

Alabama has won four in a row in the series, including 89-79 in Athens last March 6. Quinerly had 18 points and four assists and Shackelford contributed 14 points and six rebounds.
