Two teams with only one win over a Division I opponent combined this season meet when Elon visits Presbyterian at 12 p.m. ET Thursday at the Templeton P.E. Center in Clinton, S.C.

Elon (2-8, 0-3 road) ended an eight-game losing streak by beating Johnson & Wales Charlotte 101-69 on Sunday. JWU Charlotte is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Elon is 0-8 against Division I competition.

Presbyterian (2-9, 2-1 home) lost for the third straight game and the ninth time in its last ten when it fell to South Carolina 68-57 on Sunday on the road. The Blue Hose are 1-9 against D-I teams.

Elon Betting Outlook

Senior guard Sean Halloran has made a smooth transition from Division II to Division I in his first season at Elon after transferring from Belmont Abbey.

Halloran is averaging 13.2 points, 5.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals a game. He is second in the Colonial Athletic Association in assists and fourth in steals.

Senior wing Zac Ervin has an 11.0 scoring average. Freshman wing Max Mackinnon is scoring 10.4 points and pulling down 5.1 rebounds a game.

Elon is shooting just 30.0% from three-point range to rank 317th among the 363 Division I teams.  The Phoenix are 300th in points allowed at 74.0 a game.

Sophomore forward Sam Sherry scored a season-high 24 points in the win over JWU Charlotte. He also had seven rebounds while shooting 8 of 11 from the field.

Mckinnon shot 10 for 13 on his way to 23 points and his second 20-point game of the season. He also contributed seven rebounds and three assists.

Ervin had a season-high 19 points while making 6 of 11 three-point attempts. Halloran notched his first double-double while finishing with 11 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds.

Elon shot 58.7% (37 of 63) overall and 51.9% (14 of 27) from three-point range. The Phoenix also held a 43-28 rebounding advantage.

Presbyterian Betting Outlook

Presbyterian has one of the worst offensive teams in the country.

The Blue Hose are 349th in scoring offense (61.6). They are 348th in free throw shooting (61.8%), 341st in three-point shooting (28.3%), and 316th in overall field goal percentage (41.3).

Presbyterian is also allowing opponents to shoot 45.8%, which puts the Blue Hose at No. 320.

Senior forward Winston Hill is the team’s leading scorer at 10.6 a game. He topped Presbyterian with 16 points and five assists against South Carolina while making 8 of 10 field goal tries.

Sophomore forward Terrell Ard Jr. added 13 points and six rebounds.

The only other Blue Hose player with a double-digit scoring average is junior guard Crosby James at 10.3.
