Northwestern will try to stay unbeaten when it plays Liberty at 8:30 p.m. ET Tuesday in a Riviera Division semifinal game of the Cancun Challenge at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico.

Northwestern (4-0, 2-2 ATS) defeated Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne 60-52 last Friday. Liberty (2-2, 1-2 ATS is coming off a 76-72 loss to Southern Miss the same day.

Liberty Betting Trends

Liberty nearly pulled off a comeback for the ages against Southern Miss. The Flames rallied from a 26-point deficit in the second half to take the lead before eventually losing.

Senior guard Darius McGhee was a mixed bag. He scored 29 points and had six rebounds but was just 3 of 14 on three-pointers and committed six of Liberty’s 16 turnovers.

The two-time reigning Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year is averaging a conference-leading 20.3 points and 2.8 assists this season.

Sophomore guard Brody Peebles is the only other Liberty player scoring in double figures. He has a 15.8 average and is third in the A-Sun with his 64.7 field goal percentage.

Peebles scored 24 points and dished three assists Friday. He made nine of six shots from the field and connected on six of seven attempts from distance.

Sophomore guard Joseph Veznant leads Liberty in rebounding with 6.3 a game. Freshman guard Colin Porter has made an immediate impact as he leads the A-Sun in steals (2.5) and is third in assists (4.8).

Liberty is the 35th-best free throw shooting team in the nation at 77.0%.

Northwestern Betting Trends

Senior guard Boo Buie scored a season-high 28 points in the win over IPFW and was the only Northwestern player to reach double figures. He knocked down 7 of 13 shots from beyond the arc.

Buie also became the 39th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Through four games, he has averages of 17.3 points, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds.

Senior forward Robbie Beran is scoring 13.3 points and pulling down 6.8 rebounds a game.

Senior guard Chase Audige has been doing a little bit of everything with 10.8 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game. He is second in the Big Ten in steals and tied with Buie for fourth in assists.

Northwestern Is playing outstanding defense. The Wildcats are 12th in the country in field goal percentage allowed (33.2) and 14th in points given up (53.8).

IPFW shot just 32.7% (18 of 55) overall and 22.9% (8 of 35) on threes. Northwestern offset committing 17 turnovers by forcing 19.
