It’s a light night on Friday (Dec. 10) in terms of Pac-12 hoops, with Colorado being the only program to suit up. The Buffaloes will host Milwaukee, in what will be one of the final three games on their non-conference schedule.

Colorado is off to a 7-3 start this season, but doesn’t boast a single victory over a team ranked inside the top-110. The Panthers meanwhile, are off to a disappointing 2-6 start, but did taste victory in their last outing.

Colorado Buffaloes Betting Analysis

Colorado ended a mini-losing streak of their own, snapping a two-game skid last time out. Jabari Walker led the way in a 60-57 victory over Eastern Washington, in a matchup that was much closer than most would have expected.

The Buffaloes were a 17.5-point favorite, and escaped by the skin of their teeth. Walker was the only CU player to reach double-figures, as the team shot 42.9% from the field. The Buffaloes were a dismal 4-for-20 from beyond the arc, while committing 14 turnovers.

Fortunately for them, the Eagles shot the ball even worse. Eastern Washington shot 40.9% from the field, and 26.9% from three, while coughing up 12 turnovers.

Colorado is neither a strong offensive, or defensive team and that showed in their only two games versus ranked opposition this season. The Buffaloes dropped back-to-back games to #4 UCLA and #13 Tennessee by a combined 27 points. They managed an average of just 57.5 points per outing in those contests, and have failed to clear 62 points in three straight.

Offensively, they rank 133rd in points per game, and 169th in effective field goal percentage. They generate assists at the 192nd best mark in the country, while checking in at number 178 in assist-to-turnover ratio.

Defensively, the numbers aren’t much prettier. They rank 142nd in scoring defense, 179th in opponent effective field goal percentage, and 224 programs force turnovers at a higher rate.

Milwaukee Panthers Betting Analysis

Patrick Baldwin Jr. led Milwaukee’s attack in the Panthers’ victory last Saturday, their first since November 9th. They took down Robert Morris 77-69, thanks to a hot night from the floor. Milwaukee shot 47.3% from the field, and 56% from three.

Josh Thomas splashed 19, while Donovan Newby added 16, and Jordan Lathon stuffed the stat sheet with 6 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds.

Defensively, the Panthers allowed the Colonials to shot 44.3% from the field, while racking up 7 steals, and 10 blocks.

The effort in their own end was actually a bit of an outlier, as they’ve been excellent at limiting enemy shooters this season. Milwaukee leads the Horizon League in opponent shooting percentage (38.8%), but like Colorado struggle at the offensive end.

Milwaukee vs Colorado Pick

The Panthers rank 266th in points per game, and 245th in effective field goal percentage. They’ve cleared 70 points just three times all season, but their defense should be good enough to keep their contest with Colorado within striking distance.

Despite the Buffaloes 7-3 record, they are not talented enough to be laying 13.5 points in this spot. Colorado is just 2-8 against the spread, including 1-7 ATS as a favorite. Neither their offense or defense is strong enough to generate a blowout victory, as evident in their last outing versus Eastern Washington, the 219th ranked team in the country.

Pick: Milwaukee Panthers +13.5 (-110)
