Butler Betting Trends
Sloppy play and poor defense hurt Butler in its loss to St. John’s.
The Bulldogs committed 22 turnovers, including five by sophomore wing Simas Lukosius. St. John’s also shot 52.6% (30 of 57) and made 8 of 18 (44.4%) of its three-point attempts.
Junior guard Chuck Harris led Butler with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. He is second on the team in scoring at 12.7 points a game. Harris is just behind sophomore guard Jayden Taylor (12.8).

Taylor was held scoreless by St. John’s as he missed all six shots from the field.
Lukosius finished with 15 points and senior wing Ali Ali chipped in with 10 points and four assists. Lukosius raised his season scoring average to 10.2.
Senior center Manny Bates has made an impact after transferring from North Carolina State. He has averages of 12.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots.
Bates is fourth in the Big East in blocks and his 62.8 field goal percentage stands third.
Senior guard Eric Hunter, a Purdue transfer, is scoring 10.1 points a game to go with 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals.
Villanova vs Butler Prediction
Villanova swept both games from Butler last season, including winning 78-59 at Hinkle. Harris had 19 points for the Bulldogs in a losing effort.
Villanova seemingly should be motivated to play much better after laying an egg at DePaul. At least, it should be.
