  • The #11 Alabama Crimson Tide are 2.5-point away favorites at the Texas A&M Aggies in their college football game on Saturday, October 7
  • Alabama is 9-1 straight up in the past 10 games between these two SEC rivals
  • However, the Crimson Tide are just 2-4 ATS in the past six meetings with Texas A&M

When the Alabama Crimson Tide (4-1, 3-2 ATS) clash with Texas A&M Aggies (4-1, 4-1 ATS), straight up, the outcome is almost always an Alabama victory. When it comes to covering the spread, though, it’s Texas A&M that often gets the decision.

Alabama has won nine of the past 10 meetings between these SEC rivals. However, Texas A&M has covered the spread in four of the past six games and in three of the last five played at College Station, Texas.

Nonetheless, oddsmakers are again turning the 11th-ranked Tide out as the betting choice in this year’s game. Alabama is a 2.5-point road favorite in the Alabama vs Texas A&M odds.

Let’s dive more deeply into the Alabama vs Texas A&M odds and offer you our prediction for this Week 6 SEC showdown.

Then #1 Alabama lost outright 41-38 as the 18.5-point chalk in the Crimson Tide’s last visit to Texas A&M in 2021. It was their first outright loss to the Aggies since 2012.

Kickoff for this game at Kyle Field on Saturday, October 7 is set for 3:30 pm ET. The broadcast is being carried by CBS.

Crimson Tide vs Aggies Betting Splits

Perhaps recent history is the cause, because the people don’t appear completely sold on Alabama in the college football public betting splits. In spread splits, Alabama is pulling 60% of handle and 68% of bets as the 2.5-point chalk. Alabama is 4-2 SU in the school’s last six games. The moneyline splits are displaying a mixed bag of potential outcomes. Alabama at -135 is getting 73% of bets. However, it’s the +114 underdog Aggies who are grabbing 54% of moneyline handle. The Aggies are 6-1 SU in their past seven games.

On the total of 47 points, the under is garnering the action. It’s taking 69% of handle and bets. The total has gone over in four of Alabama’s past five games at Texas A&M.

Alabama is the co-10th betting choice in the National Championship odds at +2500. Texas A&M is given +900 odds of winning the SEC Championship Game.

Battle Of SEC West Unbeatens

It’s still relatively early in the season, and yet Alabama and Texas A&M are the last standing unbeaten schools in the SEC West. Both are off to 2-0 SU starts and each is riding a three-game winning streak.

While Texas A&M has done well against Alabama on the betting line, outright the Aggies are just 3-12 all-time against the Crimson Tide. Even that 2021 upset of the top-ranked Tide didn’t spark Texas A&M to a memorable campaign. The Aggies finished 8-4. In fact, they’ve never won the SEC West title.

A&M Pass Rush Will Pursue Milroe

Alabama QB Jalen Milroe made his first career start in last season’s 24-20 home win over Texas A&M, filling in for an injured Bryce Young. In that game, the Tide didn’t come close to covering as 24.5-point home favorites.

Milroe was 10-of-12 for 164 yards and ran for two TDs in last week’s road win over Mississippi State. However Milroe also often finds himself running for his life.

He’s been sacked 3+ times in three of his four starts. That could prove problematic against an Aggies defense that’s recorded seven sacks in the past two games. On the season, Texas A&M is third in the nation in sacks (20) and second in the country in sacks per game (4.00).

Alabama vs Texas A&M Prediction

Alabama’s defense is also dynamic. The Tide checked Mississippi State QB Will Rogers on 107 yards through air, a week after he threw for a career-high 487 yards.

This week they’ll be facing a backup in LSU transfer Max Johnson. He’s replacing Texas A&M Conner Weigman, out for the season after suffering a leg injury two weeks ago against Auburn.

Alabama vs Texas A&M Pick: Alabama -2.5 (-110)
