Duke playing Kansas in a battle of undefeated teams sounds more like a January college basketball bout. Nevertheless, the two schools will wrestle for control of the gridiron on Saturday. It’ll be Duke vs Kansas from Lawrence, Kansas.

Incredibly, both programs are 3-0 this season after combining to finish a paltry 5-19 in 2021. Remarkably, Duke has just one win in the ACC since 2019, and is 5-18 overall the past two seasons. The Jayhawks record is even more astonishing. Since 2008, Kansas has posted a winning record just once.

Amazingly, none of that matters to this year’s teams. You can catch this unbelievable battle of undefeated teams on Saturday at noon on FS1.

It’s not every day you see Kansas as a 7.5-point football favorite. The Sports Betting Dime formula likes the Jayhawks to come out on top in this one. However, the public is all over the Blue Devils to cover the spread. Keep a close eye on all the College Football line movement over at our CFB odds page.

Duke Betting Trends

Remember football fans, Duke beat Kansas 52-33 last year at Wallace Wade Stadium. That win proved to be the last victory of David Cutcliffe’s Blue Devils’ tenure, and much has changed since then. Mike Elko took the reigns and has already matched last year’s win total.

The Blue Devils trampled Temple 30-0 in week 1. Duke then went on the road and took down a talented Northwestern team as 10-point underdogs. Incredibly, that victory is Duke’s only win against the spread in their last 9 road games.

Quarterback Riley Leonard has been a revelation thus far in Durham. He sits second in the ACC in completion percentage at 72.7% with five touchdown throws through three weeks. Leading receiver Jordan Moore was just fighting Leonard for the starting job last month! The sophomore has made the switch to wideout look easy while hauling in a touchdown in each game this season. Duke is an extremely live underdog in this one, as evidenced by the 83% of the bets so far laying the 7.5 points with the Blue Devils.

Kansas Betting Trends

The Kansas Jayhawks have looked good on the gridiron so far in 2022. Kansas waltzed right on by Tennesse Tech in week 1 before defeating West Virginia in overtime. The Jayhawks followed that up with a 48-30 beatdown of Houston last weekend.

Kansas is favored in this one for a reason. Led by incredible dual-threat quarterback Jalon Daniels, the Jayhawks are averaging an incredible 53 points per game this season. The junior quarterback has thrown for 7 touchdowns and added 3 more scores on the ground. He’s completed nearly 70% of his passes, all well averaging 8.78 yards per carry. Daniels is a weapon on the football field.

Additionally, the Jayhawks’ defense has shown a steady improvement each week. After allowing 14 points on Houston’s opening two possessions, Kansas stiffened up the rest of the way. The defense stood tall the rest of the way, forcing two turnovers and recording four sacks. If this Jayhawks pass-rush can get home against the Blue Devils, Kansas will move to 4-0.

Duke vs Kansas Prediction

There are a number of trends in this matchup that are difficult to ignore. The Blue Devils are 0-5 in their last five games following an against-the-spread loss, and just 1-8 ATS in their last nine road games. On the other side, Kansas is 6-0 in their last six against the spread, and 4-0 ATS in their last four games after recording at least 40 points scored. We’re betting on Jalon Daniels and the Kansas offense to stay hot.
